I have to say, that was kind of a good thing at DC. I liked that stuff like THUNDER Agents and REBELS actually got a fair chance to find audiences. Marvel would've had them canceled by the time their second issues' sales numbers were released and we'd count ourselves lucky if they let the creators finish out their first arc.

How many volumes are there of Kurt Busiek's run on the Avengers and what chronological order should they be read in?

There's the big hard covers and I believe there are five. And they're numbered so, you know. Also you can slide Avengers Forever in there after like, the second volume.

Is there any difference between DIRECT and NEWSSTAND comics? Is one more valuable than the other or something like that?

I think "direct" just means it was distributed by Diamond. So pretty much all comics are "direct" now.

Well, I still see and buy NEWSSTAND comics, but only recently got worried that I might be buying "inferior quality" comics or something...

i remember reading somewhere (might have been here on the boards) that the unknown energy fired by Cyclops was tried to be explained that his eyes were portals to another dimension, and every time he opened his eyes he was releasing energy from said dimension. anybody else read the same thing or know what book that came from?

I've read it on a few different books, might have been at least on Handbook of the MU, but uncannyxmen.net has the bio for him that states the same thing.

Edit: I was just looking through that site and saw the family tree for Cyclops, Yeesh. With all the AU and what if universes out there that connect to 616 is there anyone he's not related to? He's had at least 2 kids who are both insanely powerful (depending on the day of the week) and has had sex with the same woman in 3 different bodies, 2 of which have attempted to destroy the Earth or the Universe. And now he`s God-King of the mutants, where can he go from here, ruler of the universe?

Next he will ascend to become the new Eternity to replace the old one who went insane from getting his ass kicked so much. This will reunite him with Jean. Eternity going insane will be the explanation for all the ridiculous things that have been happening including everything connected to the Hulk.

Nah, it's a Forge modified LMD with psi circuitry to mimic a human mind well enough to fool Emma. He's off somewhere doing a threeway with Jean and Maddy (sustained by the power of the Phoenix). He's not insane at all. He can play with Jean and Maddy or he can play with Logan.

About a twelve or so. God he actually used to be my favorite X-Man too.
