The Official Stupid Question Thread: Marvel Edition - Part 3

I have a question(Keep in mind I don't really know the comics that well, although I really want to get into them. I'm more familiar with the animated series)

Ok, so why do people hate the X-Men/Mutants(as I've seen in TAS, Evolution, Wolverine & The X-Men) but praise people like the Avengers(EMH is a noted example) given that they all want the same thing(kinda)? Or does the distrust of mutants extends itself to other Superhumans hence Civil War?

This was never really explored for me as they've rarely put the X-Men and Avengers in the same room together in cartoons.
I know I'm chiming in a bit late, but I wanted to throw in this bit from the MARVELS graphic novel:
"But there was something about the mutants. They were the dark side of the Marvels. Where Captain America and Mister Fantastic spoke to us about the greatness within us all, the mutants were death. They didn't even have to do anything. They were our replacements, scientists said. The next evolutionary step. We--homo sapiens--were obsolete, and they were the future. They were going to kick the dirt onto our graves. It was a terrifying thought."

That, and Ant-man was teased in the Marvel NOW promo with Nick Fury Jr.

The question is who's gonna be Ant-Man? Probably not Pym, he's Giant-Man right now and running a school. O'Grady is dead-ish. Scott Lang is the likely candidate and hasn't been seen since Children's Crusade.

I imagine that's specifically what he was brought back for, given that Edgar Wright's movie script supposedly features Lang.

With Marvel NOW, is Nick fury Jr completely replacing Nick Fury Sr?

I wish they'd kept more of the ex-mutants around. Everyone other than Rictor, Moonstar, and Jubilee seemed to either regain their powers or fall off the face of the Earth.
Prodigy is still around. By and large though, it was mainly D and F listers that got depowered. As mentioned, most who were more significant than that have been repowered in some way

I don't think I've seen him in Winter Soldier since the first couple issues, I could be wrong though. He does have a MAX series where he's recounting his old war stories, I guess waiting to die.

Has Wolverine, due to his metal bones, ever been stuck to a crane-magnet? The ones they use in junkyards?

Speaking of Wolverine, who was the best at drawing him at roughly his stated height of 5 foot 3 inches? By all rights, he should be one of, if not the, shortest X-man, but it never seems that way.

Jim Lee was pretty conscious about that back in the day.

Looking it up, it seems you're right. And after checking the suppossed heights of other X-men, it turns out he's supposed to be a whole foot shorter than Cyclops! :wow: Never knew the height difference was meant to be that much.

Most artists probably don't realize just how short 5-foot-3 is.

How the hell did he lose the Infinity Formula?? And who'd he hook up with to have a son? And why does Nick Jr. look like Ultimate Fury???

Doesn't help that he's being followed around by Agent 'Cheese' Coulson...

He didn't lose the Infinity Formula, he had one last vial and used it to save Bucky during Fear Itself.

Probably to tie in with the fact that the cinematic Nick Fury is based on Ultimate Nick Fury so for the sake of cross promotion... well, you get the idea.

Darick Robertson, from Greg Rucka's run of Wolverine ALWAYS had Logan be the shortest guy in the room.
