Is Rictor gay or bi? How did PAD handle the fact that he had previously been with women? Was he faking it in his previous relationships?

"He had his involvements with females, sure, just as women who eventually decided they were lesbians had involvements with men that they ultimately considered unfulfilling." David points out, "at this point, at least the way I'm writing him, he's fully committed to the gay lifestyle. He's become honest about it both with others and himself."

In the late 80's his cover had the tag-line "The Non-Mutant Super Hero" because of a huge debate that ran in the letters column between fans. (That's how it was done in the pre-internet days :woot:)

That's when the X-Men were going through their huge Claremont revival too, so Marvel wanted people to know that they published some comics that weren't filled with dirty muties. :o

Oh god. I never thought about it before, but with Rahne's extremely religious background and hangups about sex, that romp with Rictor probably was her first time. Yikes. No wonder she initially had such a big problem with Ric turning out to be gay, despite it never coming up with any of the half dozen other gay X-Men she knew.

It gets worse when you really think about it. The next guy she has sex with knocks her up.

That girl... she needs to stick to the Jesus code.

Having sex with a pagan god was already pretty sacrilegious for her. When that girl F's up her beliefs, she really F's them up.

And cannibalized her father right before she got with Hrimhari as well.

Dont forget she got drugged up on heroin...lol. OMG, her life sucked!

Wasn't she kidnapped by Pre-Maggie Genosha guards and brainwashed into being Havoks love obsessed slave as well?

It was more than brainwash. She was psychologically bonded to him and the process trapped her in her lupine phase for a couple of years. Out of all the New Mutant kids, she's probably had the toughest life since Xavier took her in, probably second only to Illyana who literally spent her childhood in hell.

Illyana and Rahne... two examples of how you can hurt a character in more ways than by just killing them off.

Take note people who kept killing off Generation X and New X-Men students.

When your mums a prostitute and your dad leads an angry mob to burn you at the stake when your 14 you know you aren't having a good life.

Why does everyone care so much about recreating the Super Soldier serum? I mean, it's great, Cap is truly phenomenal, but it seems to me that Spider-Man is, physically speaking, capable of doing all the things Cap can much better than he can, plus a couple other neat things on top of that. Why isn't everyone scrambling to recreate Spider-Man instead?

Because very few people know how Spider-Man was created in the first place? Hell, does Peter even know the exact circumstances? We know it was a radioactive spider that bit him, but you'd have to figure out how to recreate the radioactive spider, and I imagine it's gotta be tough to douse a spider with a healthy dose of radiation without killing it. What kind of radiation was it, anyway?

Good point. Spidey's creation was a completely fluke unlike Cap's which was a science project with actual data and planning behind it

Really, the government would have an easier time headhunting mutants. Which they do.

*Comment*
They could make Variations of Luke Cage's version of the SuperSoldier formula,.. Tweak it to give Cages Accelerated healing and reduce the invulnerability to allow him to be faster,.. Since the most current RetCon has Cages powerset as a result of the original stuff for Cap.

They also know how to make a few other powersets,... don't the Kree have a few machines like the one that gave Captain Marvel her original powerset? And don't the Badoon or some other scaly green alien have the science to tweak DNA in a person to their most efficient config - making Ms Marvel/WarBird/Captain Marvel into Binary?

Heck,.. I think there are mutants that can make you mutants,...
And don't forget that the entire Banner family line can be hulks with a little blood and motivation,..:word:

That's the exact same problem facing people trying to recreate the super soldier serum.

They go into the idea of a super powered arms race more in the Ultimate books. Never mind with all the retcons and bull**** they keep adding that makes the first few volumes useless.

But with the Caps serum they had those "Vita-Rays" they hit him with and most of the serum being undocumented they're mostly at a loss to rebuild it.

As for mutants, the X-gene is crazy variable and could just as easily make a psychic as it could give you three eyes and one flame spewing nostril.

Most of the super soldier/make your own super human experiments tend to go wonky and/or make the experiments go crazy anyway. The few that don't usually get locked up when they display common sense.

If I recall correctly, she flat out asked Rictor if she was the reason he turned gay when she found out. I'd have to double-check though.

Can I ask hypothetical questions on this thread? If so, what would a Frank Miller take on Iron Man, Thor, , Hulk and Spider-Man be like? Me and some friends were joking about Frank Miller makes poorly written parodies of his characters(All Star Batman & Robin) and were wondering what if Frank Miller did *insert character here*. So I was wondering what you guys think.
