Thanks. I did not recall there being one but a poster in THE DARK WORLD thread kept going on about Zeus and Thanos' father being brothers.

That poster is an idiot.

What he means is, the guy that LOOKS like Zeus (In both face and name) Zuras, is Thanos' uncle.

Thor and Sif break up or not together or whatever? I'm behind on things, last I heard she was hanging out with Beta Ray Bill while Thor was seeing to an ailing Jane Foster.

This question belongs here because it is stupid, I've been back into comics since week 0 of Marvel NOW! but how the heck do all these different characters show up and are involved in all these different storylines and have their own series as well sometimes? I know you have to have a certain suspension of disbelief in the 616 but sometimes it seems very convoluted

EDIT: case in point in Infinity Iron Man is currently holding down the fort on earth while the Avengers are fighting across the galaxy but in his comic he is stuck on the godkiller?!

Comic continuity 101.

Lesson 1: Everything isn't happening at the same time. Each individual story only takes place over a certain amount of time. For instance, he's fighting across the galaxy with the Avengers, that's like, what? A week? Meanwhile he's fighting the Godkiller on Earth and that's like, couple of hours. A day or two max. The real question is, what comes first?

Can those in the know answer this: What has been revealed over the years about Cap's immediate family? Father, mother, siblings ect.?

I know about Zemo trashing the last picture Cap had of his mother and I remember Cap mentioning a brother in an EARTH/UNIVERSE X one shot but other than that I'm drawing a blank.

Really not a heck of a lot. This is the first time I've ever seen major flashbacks to his time as a kid. Most writers have always focused on the WWII stuff. I know that his father was an alcoholic and Steve's mother died at a young age.

So the general consensus is that as of now in continuity with mainline Marvel that Cap has no living relations of any sort?

That we don't know of.....because you know some writer is gonna go there one day with a half brother or something that's still somehow running around. That will probably be the same day I stop reading Captain America for the first time ever.

Well I am actually more interested in the idea Cap has living relatives descended from his immediate family. But setting that up would seem to be problematic as of now.

I just think it would be interesting if he had biological family to look up, and when he does he finds that his "new" family is mirror of modern america. Like he shows up to introduce himself at their front door, expecting a KRIS ROGERS to be a great nephew that looks like a brother or a sister and it turns out KRIS is a biracial woman that's keeping her maiden name but is engaged to a hispanic-american man and KRIS has a white half brother, ect. The idea I guess would be for Steve's bio family in the hear and now be reflective of modern Americans. Don't even involve them directly in superhero stuff, just have them be support characters for Steve Rogers more than Cap. Have Steve, the blast from the past make a connection to people in the here and now that's not based on wearing a costume and a mask.

Thor and Sif were doin' it for a while, but it seemed more casual than a committed relationship. Part of that is probably just because it happened in the Fraction era, and Fraction wrote Thor like a caveman rather than a guy who could conceivably have an emotional connection to a woman. Now it seems like neither of them really feel that connection they once had. Thor admits that they grew distant recently in God of Thunder #12. And now it seems like he's trying to start something with this SHIELD researcher chick, so I guess it's safe to assume that yes, Thor and Sif are basically broken up. For the moment. Because that's happened about a thousand times before and they keep finding their way back to each other.

I wouldn't be surprised if the movie(s) have something to do with it, cashing in on Natalie Portman and all. Thanks for the update.

That sounds kinda awesome.

Long time lurker here before I signed up. Any compliment from the Jackal Headed one, when it comes to comics stuff is an honor. No joke. I don't always agree with what you put out there Anubis, but I never think it's dumb, especially when it comes to Marvel/DC books. :yay:

Also... RIP the Thick Women Thread. It's the only place I saw the types that I LOOOOOVVVEEE around this place. :word:

Which Thor trade comes before "Thor Vs. Seth, The Serpent God"?

I don't think there is a trade of the stuff directly before it. That TPB covers #395-400, and the closest one before that that I can find is Thor: Alone Against the Celestials, which covers some issues in the #380s.

I've been reading v.1 of the Avengers and Vision is now a member.

When and how did he acquire his all white suit?

90's I wanna say?

He went nuts, tried to take over the planet, then got decommissioned and rebuilt minus all his memories and emotions, also a paint job.

Definitely early 90s, just in time to get his whiteness on in the Cap & the Avengers arcade game. That was my gateway. :woot:

That was one of my big gateways into the Avengers too. I played it and then my cousin gave me a bunch of his comics, many of which were Avengers West Coast issues. The Vision corresponded to the game so I was like, "I'll check these out..."

Thank you.

Do the Marvel universe have a Kraken?
