Who taught Deadpool how to fight?

Knowing Marvel they'll probably show it to be yet another lost memory of Wolverine showing him how to fight.

He spent some time as a teacher in an inner city school in New York. Kinda like "To Sir, with Love" Forgot the name he went by though.

Plack Banther. No one ever suspected him.

Have Herc and Thir ever had a drinking contest? Who would win?

Has Punisher ever run into Magneto, and if so, how is he not dead?

They usually have Franky stay away from people who can eat him for breakfast if he annoys them (barring things like Punisher kills the MU). Far as I know the worst he's fought was alongside a number of other guys to distract them from turning him into dog food.

Mutant supremacists aren't probably on the Punisher's hit list.

Frank is written as having Batman level prep time skills and tactical planning sometimes so I'm sure there is some scenario in which he could survive an in counter with Magneto (although Magneto is a very smart tactical genius in his own right).

Magneto's powers in the comics are always up and down anyway. Sometimes he has the power to level a city and beat an entire team of X-Men single handedly and sometimes he can't even hold his own against one Sentinel or X-Man.

Back in the 60's when his powers were less defined Magneto could hypnotise people with his magnetic powers.

Yeah, I figure that's the only thing that'd save him in a random encounter.

He even did astral projection once.

Back in the day many comic characters powers were effectively whatever the writer wanted them to do that week.

Its funny reading old comics and a character just pulling some random power out of nowhere which is never mentioned again.

Back in the original Secret Wars they had Magneto use his 'latent telepathic powers' to 'boost' Xaviers own so they could try to talk to Galactus.

:facepalm:Chuck don't need no boost!

Not sure if stupid but is Kristin McDuffie's last name named after Dwayne McDuffie?

I'm not 100% sure. I feel like yes but just making sure.

Have they done anything with Quake lately, especially now that she's on Agents of SHIELD?

Also, not having kept up with the new stories lately until today, when did Jane Foster get breast cancer?

He says otherwise.

I'm not sure, but now I really hope so. That'd be neat. Although it'd be a bit odd to memorialize a black writer who helped co-found Milestone to promote diversity in comics by giving his name to a very white lawyer lady.

I know it's bad nettiquite to quote myself but before the whole San Francisco and Utopia thing made it common I always loved seeing these two guys work together on anything. They made them best friends for ever but ideologies made them work against each other but are a great team when they did.

Magneoto rejoining the X-men was one of the better idea to come out of Utopia

I've been working my way through classic X-Men (coming up on "Inferno" now) and I've suddenly noticed that there hasn't been a sign of Asteroid M since the very first Brotherhood story way back in the Lee/Kirby days. Does that not come up again until the new X-Men #1 in the early 90s?

It was used circa UXM 113 when he faced the new X-men. That version was destroyed in New Mutants when Warlock crashed onto Earth. The next time Asteroid M was used was in Avengers West Coast 57 where Magneto reunited with his twins

Hmm, I must've forgot all about those. I know I read those issues.

Personally I found the whole San Francisco/Utopia thing to be some of the best X-Mens stories we've ever gotten.

I think they've been among the worst...lol. I hated the X-men's time in SF. The ONLY time I did was when Gillen was writing Uncanny X-men volume 2 but man when it was Fraction alone, I wasnt a fan. I think he's the worst writer to work on that title

I loved the fact they were out among people, they weren't hidden away from the world like they were for the past few decades. They'd wander around San Fran do random superhero stuff and everyone pretty much knew what they were and where they lived. It's how they should have been from the start, like the Avengers or FF.

Just picked up X-Men: The End trade, is this good?

It's payday and I had an impulse-buy moment just out of sheer curiosity.

This! This! This! His Thor run was disappointing too. Hawkeye and IIF were great.

Also, want to add Brubaker's X-Men run being lackluster as well.
