This issue sounds like it is truly going to be an epic of epicness

I cannot wait to see how Paul Cornell writes Superman

Holy **** that was incredible.

Goyer's story = :hrt: Even more excited for Man of Steel.

I'mma buying it tomorrow and i cannot wait to read it. Was the Lex and Superman battle as :awesome: as it should be HighFivingMF

It's fairly insane and somewhat touching! The story is crosscut between Superboy/Supergirl/Steel/Cyborg Superman fighting Doomsday. All of the extra stories are great, "Life Support" was sad though.

Awwww what was that one about :csad:

Glad to hear this story wasnt a letdown I was sure that Cornell would deliver a great finale. So glad he is staying on as the writer of Action Comics

action 900 was a lot of fun. an awesome ending to cornell's story.

i was intrigued to see goyer's short story due to his involvement in MOS. i wasnt too enthusiastic about it. it was melodramatic and void of.....fun? im all for superman tackling serious and relevant issues, but that was a boring way to do it.

I enjoyed Action 900 alot. I was a bit hesitant to buy it because I haven't been reading Action Comics prior to this, and the whole Doomsday thing had ties to this book. But i went for it anyway and really enjoyed it.

My problem with the main story may stem from the fact that I didn't really know what was going on prior to reading this issue. But some of the pacing felt a little off, like with Lex suddenly achieving infinite power almost instantaneously with only a slight, not very dramatic build-up. Was there more information about this established in prior issues? Because i'll probably go back and read all the previous books. And the other thing I didn't like about it was how the Doomsday stuff was cut into it. I felt that, despite being a chapter in a larger story, the Superman/Lex story could have stood on it's own as a great story about why Superman is such a great hero. Throwing in the Doomsday stuff really cut short any poignant moments. The Doomsday stuff should have had it's own section to the whole issue, rather than being intercut with the Black Ring stuff. That said, I think i'll add Action Comics to my pull-list now, especially if this is the quality of work that Cornell has been serving up on this title. The back to back quality of Action Comics and Detective Comics would make this part of every month incredible.

The only story I didn't really like was Goyer's. I mean, I thought it was a good story and I enjoyed it, but it lacked punch that the other stories had. Life Support was a great story that I felt ended a little too abruptly, but I absolutely loved it. My favorite was the Donner script & storyboards "Only Human". It was a nice, fun little story that brought a smile to my face.

Yeah, it is explained in issues prior; it's basically the crux of the entire Black Ring story.

So, for those who've read it, how was Lindelof's story?

Whose art is that supposed to be on the one right next to Gary Frank's? Is that McGuinness?

I have to agree about Life Support. That was a very touching and sad story to read. To be honest I have two little girls and seeing the ending to that story that may be the only time I read that story.

Paul Cornell's conclusion to the story was absolutely fantastic and i really liked how everyone who was part of it took a cameo of sorts at the end. Lex Luthor was at his most Luthor and Superman seems to be very well written by Cornell, can dig! David S. Goyer's story renewed my fan hopes for Man of Steel movie even further while also making me wish Pre-Crisis Superman being a citizen of every nation was canon as well, but yeah Superman is and always should be seen as a global hero. The other stories we're really cute especially Geoff Johns little party thing for Clark to make him relax and Lindelof managed to not make his story too melodramatic or anything.

I agree that Superman should be seen as a global hero that is something that For Tomorrow kind of showed and was picked up on in the Superman comics but something they moved away from after IC.

I greatly enjoyed Paul Cornell's conclusion to Luthor's Black Ring Saga, The confrontation between Superman and Lex was awesome and it really shows why these two are and forever will be Arch-Nemesis.

The life support story was heartwarming and bittersweet, between Jor-El and his younger brother Zor-El.

Loved the the Geoff Johns & Gary Frank story with Lois and Clark inviting the entire Legion of Superheroes for dinner just to hang out with Clark.

I never saw Superman as an american hero...to me he was always an earth icon....so this move to me makes no sense...its not like he's Captain America...its not like he is associated with America

It's true Superman is a global icon, But Clark Kent is American .

Then I guess Clark's gonna be pissed when he finds out what Supes did. :o

right but when Superman saves someone in another country I never saw that as an extention of the US...not like with Cap where he is a representative of the country

This picture shows why he is always associated with America because usually you always see Superman in pictures holding the American flag or the flag is usually in the picture somewhere up until recently.

On a side note I am finding it odd that people are now warming up to or seem to be okay with ideas that they were so against when they were introduce back in Superman Returns (Chris, New Krypton, Doing away with Truth, Justice, and the American Way). Maybe its just the execution.
