Are the Maggin novels still in print Kurosawa or would I need to look on Amazon to find them

They've been out of print for years but are dirt cheap on Amazon or you can find them online as e-books. They're only bout 200 pages each in paperback format, so they're pretty quick reads but there's a lot of great stuff in there. They do reflect their late 70's origins at times, so some of the references to things like disco music and Xerox machines and free love are pretty dated, but the best stuff is quite timeless and has influenced writers like Moore, Morrison and Waid.

I don't know if the rumor is true or not but if they did do a Superman Beyond book it should star Conner as Superman. It would be nice with him in an ongoing as Superman. To be honest I also think Batman Beyond should have been Damion's Batman as well. Show the future of the DCU current heroes and have it stick with current DCUO cannon not DCUAS cannon with Damion saving Tim and training him. I would be nice to learn about what happens to Dick Tim, Cassie, Lois, Superman and the rest of the DCU in that world.

Well, they already had one appearance by Superman in this quasi-Batman Beyond continuity, and it was Clark.

Yea I know just saying it would be nice to see some sort of MC2 setting for the DCU with the younger heroes taking over as the main heroes.

I would probably read that

Thanks I will definitely read those. Everything you have said about them makes them sound like wonderful superhero stories :)

JMS is really trying to hammer Superman's super-morality into us isn't he? At least we got a "fight" this issue and it wasn't the usual story about Supes being better than us.

Hasn't he been off the book for like... 8 issues?

this recent issue was probably the best one to date. it seemed the most detached from the grounded storyline. the art was particularly good this issue.

They wouldn't be so bad if they weren't so ****ing wrong about it.

Like I could stand to be lectured by Supes about how much better he is than me if he actually demonstrably were in any of these stories, instead of just a dumb, ignorant *******.

Haha, yeah. He's also being stalked/mind controlled by that creepy black lady. A story I'm sure will come to super-entertaining fruition eventually.

What I wouldn't give for a classic slugfest against Bizzaro or Mongul right now

Oh, interesting. I really enjoyed his Spider-Girl work of recent times.

You know I find it interesting that DC backed away from the whole Superman renouncing his US citizenship thing. I felt if they were bold enough to print it they should have stuck to their guns about it and not back down. Personally I don't have a problem with how it goes down either way.

Yeah :)

Instead Superman would probably make a deranged incoherent speech and they would wander off confused and sad :csad:

Groovy

I may buy that for a friend i am trying to get interested in comic books
