The Official Superman Thread - Part 3

Yeah, that President Superman cover is a very unsubtle political statement. It's pretty much the exact same as Alex Ross's portrait of Obama as Superman.

Alternate earth stories are waste of time anyway. Unless it ties into a main universe story, I don't care what happens two universes over. I'll be dropping this book before that issue.

If you'd read the solicitation you'd see how this ties with the main story of Action Comics. Tsk!:BA

Looks like DC adapted the whole bullet-point thing from Marvel's solicitations. It doesn't matter that much, but I always find that kind of annoying to read.

Just read Action #6.

That was probably my favorite issue of the relaunch....I don't know why.

You know, that might have been it.

He also punched a Dinosaur in the bread basket, which was even more awesome.

Yeah, throwing in a talking dinosaur into the story, then having Superman beat the crap out of it, is guaranteed to please this comics fan.

President Superman seemed cool from the brief part he had in Superman: Beyond.

Oh right, noone here cares about George Perez's Peter Parker Superman. We're all reading Action Comics and so should you.

even so.

oh noes, Superman has a full range of emotions, instead of being stupidly happy all the time! They're turning him into teh batman!

please.

apparently if perez had stayed on his next arc would have been clark dealing with the death of lana lang

>______________>

He's bummed because the woman he's in love with(and will eventually be with anyway) has a boyfriend. He's devoted to everything the Daily Planet can and should be. He's disgusted by the demolishing of the old Daily Planet building.

Like Scarecrow King said, Superman's got a full range of emotion, and in two of those three pages, you see how passionate he is for those ideals. In the first page, he's just being human.

I see no brooding.

Oh please.....stop it already. Stupidly happy?? All the time???

Who said that he did that?? Can you quote me saying that??

Pre-Flashpoint he had his share of trouble. But he did not dwell in the basement. Maybe it had something to do with his parents being alive. DC decided to kill em. He's not getting any pep talks from Ma and Pa. No trips home except to visit a cemetery. Yep...that'll cheer him up.

Thats more in line with the GA Superman, so the Kents being dead doesn't bother me. I don't really see how this new Superman is "brooding", especially in Action, where he seems confident, and like he's enjoying himself as Supes.

I also hope the movie has a better ending than the comic. The comic just ends
with Superman beating the leader and giving this high morale lecture after beating them up, i'd say have the movie end with Superman leading the Elite as a proper team of heroes.
...You'd like to see Superman leading a team of remorseless killers instead of, y'know, sending them to prison for being a gang of murderers?

Hey they all have potential, if Batman can forgive once villains, so can Superman.

What's the old saying I just made up on the spot? "**** you, I'm Grant Morrison!"
