I bet Tony Daniel gets Action Comics lol.

You know this joke just made me realize that it's possible for Daniel to get Batman Inc. once Grant wraps his epic up :csad:

He did threaten after all that he will return to Batman someday.

Don't...don't even ****ing joke about these things, guys. Great now this is going to linger over me until they announce the teams. :csad:

if he's not writing, I don't care what book he's on.

I'm not really surprised Morrison is leaving. I mean, isn't 16 issues what they've said all along?

He said 16 issues planned, and it could grow like his Batman series, which will now end up about twice as long if you include All-Star Superman as part of his Superman canon like he does.

has anyone else got the impression that morrison isnt too into this New 52 crap?

I think that's pretty obvious. He probably enjoys some of the creative freedom, but so much of his work is based on taking weird aspects of near-forgotten continuity and bringing them back into the forefront.

Sorry to be so late to the party about Morrison's departure. That's honestly the worst possible news. Right now I'm enjoying Action and Batman Inc. more than any other book out there. Nobody gets the characters like Morrison does.

If they need to replace him, go with Sholly Fisch (sp?). The back-ups are always stellar.

You could also include his Justice League run, especially DC One Million.

Yeah, he refrenced his JLA run in Batman Inc. And his Action is in continuity with All-Star, DC One Million is a given.

They should give Morrison a promotion in all honesty.

I might be dropping Superman soon. I want to stay on for the new writer, but so far its not getting any better :(

Why not just drop it until the next writer comes on and try it again?

Not that I expect it to be any good then either. :o

Yeah, I never understood that whole, sticking with crap just cuz boos**t. If it sucks, drop it. Pick it up again when the new writer comes on. You could put the money you woulda spent on that, on something....I don't know.....better.....crazy I know. :o

Its just hard dropping a title i had so much excitement for. I keep hoping that it will get better. :(

Think about it though you're still missing out on other books that could actually match your excitement because you throw the money in the direction of the book that is dull. CConn and Anubis are right on the money. The minute a book I was into isn't living up to my expectations I drop it and move on to another.

If I never did that I would've missed out on a crap load of great comics that I gave a shot to because I had extra money to take the chance on them. Specifically independent books whenever I have dropped a book from the big 2. You could always give it another look when another writer comes in or when people who's opinions you trust actually recommend it instead of just supporting mediocrity and losing the chance to spend that money on something worth it.

That someone so creative and who loves Superman and superheroes so much would say he's done with superheroes for now sends up red flags. Forward thinking on his part or not, the industry needs more talents who dream big, not less.

morrison just said in an interview that he's had a great relationship with DC

I love Grant Morrison, but I'm sorta glad we're getting a change of pace, on both titles. I like AC, but I find Superman unbearable. I just want a good, grand-scale Superman story again. The last time I read a well-writte Superman story was when Geoff Johns was on this book. I honestly wish he'd drop JL to get on AC or Superman, and maybe bring back Brad Meltzer or Mark Waid on it.

He doesn't have to be on bad terms with DC for something to be up. It could be an innocent shift in philosophy. Whatever it is, it bodes bad for me as a fan of superhero comics.

Yeah, this seems more like a Rucka styled split where the creator just wanted to do other things as opposed to a Waid styled split where there is bad blood due to editorial dickishness.

Morrison's still got Multiversity and Wonder Woman: Earth One (I assume).
