I don't see howOrko Is King said:Yah, but having Krypton NOT be a sterile, unloving environment makes its explosion all the more tragic.
. With Byrne's Krypton, we didn't just have the destruction of a planet; we had the demise of an entire civilization going on before Krypton even exploded. Plus, with Byrne's sterilized version, we get many more angles and dynamics to explore with Jor-el. He wasn't unloving at all. In fact, if their civilization had continued, Jor-el might've started a change in the way the rest of the planet thought about their way of life, much the same way he did to Lara in the last few panels before their deaths. We see the strength of his character because he used his dying moments to express his love for Lara; an emotion that was almost completely alien on Krypton. This makes Jor-el stand out quite a bit from the rest of the pack, and shows that Superman comes from special and unique stock from the very start.Darthphere said:I highly doubt that.

I guess you could say I'm on the side of creative interpretation.Spike_x1 said:...which in and of itself contradicts every single aspect of Byrne's sterilized Krypton, where all of the citizens had every piece of hair removed.
Actually, it's hard to tell which side you're on here. Comic Book Boy seemed to be impressed by the inclusion of a beard, whereas I called out the unnecessary change and its effects. Are you dismissing both my criticism, and CBB's impression, on the basis that it's simply "a beard" and not worth discussion?
your hate for the book is strong my young sith now release that anger and strike it downDarthphere said:Like this book couldnt get gimmicky enough.
It's a two way street, man.Spike_x1 said:As you said, it's just a beard. There's no reason why the artist or writer should feel "suffocated" by having to leave it out.
Indeed; no reason to praise it, and no reason to criticize it.CConn said:It's a two way street, man.
. If you don't like a particular discussion on how Jor-el looks, or don't think the conversation is necessary in the first place, don't take part in the discussion. Suckdictable. That way, it has "suck dick" in it. You're not as far along in your training as I'd hoped.Darthphere said:Suckpredictable?![]()
