The Amazing Spider-Man 2 The Official TASM2 Costume Thread!! - Part 1

I always disliked the detail changes like the added lines on the legs, the waist line not going all the way to the front, the sneakers, etc. Just the minor details. Had they fixed that, to me, it would have been the perfect Spider-Man suit.

He looks almost perfect in shots like these, when you can't see the leg lines.

I know saw that pic....man, that looks awesome! Make the eyes brighter, have the belt more prominent from the front view, tighten those shoes up and you'd have a spectacular suit!

If I was a better artist I would try and reconcile the two suits into what I think they should be. But alas, I have no true drawing skill.

Did anybody here like the first ASM suit from the start?

The first time we got set photos of him running, I was only okay with it; I thought it could have been better. When we got actual promotional photos, I fell in love with it. It was sleek, the fabric and colors were awesome, and the practicality of it charmed me; when you watch the behind the scenes, you get it! They were thinking of how Peter would make this, or come across that: for example, he would find some athletic shoes, cut the souls out, and fit them around a custom fabric boot. And with the eyes: popped out the lenses out of some sun glasses, and titled them to get the classic Spidey look, or in this case the eyes of a bug.

It was the idea that TASM outfit DARED to be different and appeared to be more sensible to create. And to me, I thought it was a success; it is the most INSECT feeling costume for Spiderman. I love the new costume right now, but I'm still mad that it didn't take the same risks as the last outfit.

Thats the one vibe I got from the ASM suit is that it was very insect like and made him appear to be more like a spider. I admit I wasn't a fan of it at all from pictures at all but once I saw the film I felt the suit photographed very well and looked fantastic in action.

To me, this looks fantastic. Raimi's suit look kiddy in comparison but Raimi's suit is true to the comics. I really wish the had incorpated the 'classic' look onto this suit rather than embracing Raimi's version. It's like the BB vs TDK, imho they took a step back even though they improved the movement in the neck, for ASM they have taken a step back even though they have improved the eyes.

With the old costume, I did like the 'basketball' pattern.

Same. The Raimi 'bricks' seems a little plain to me.

This reminds me a little of my feelings towards the MOS suit. Love the material and the open neck (compared to the absoutely hidious SR suit) but it is missing the classic trunks. So it would be like ditching the material I like for MOS to return back to Reeve suit (which is pretty much perfect representation of the comic) yes, it is straight from the comics but you've lost 'something' in the translation.

Just seeing the suit like this, it's bloody awesome. It's undeniably Spider-Man, but done in a way that it feels completely fresh.

The MOS suit looks great. Ah well.

How do they go from the great suit in MOS to the POS I'm lookin at?

The first time I saw the TASM suit was the one image where he was walking, mask off with a backpack after just having fought the Lizard my guess is. You know the one I mean.

I loved that image and find it hard for anyone to not love it. Right away that image told me "Hey, perhaps this isnt just a Raimi retread, this feels fresh and different"

Thats what I loved about TASM, thats what I loved about the sneakers.

I loved the ASM suit. It was so dynamic and gave Spider-Man that slightly sinister and creepy look that he had when Ditko would draw him. I still wish they kept elements of it in the new suit. At the very least the colors and texture patterns. And the gloves. I loved the gloves.

I guess we can still pop in the DVD/Blu Ray to be reminded of it. Sigh...

To the TAS suit's credit, the colors are much better. I prefer the more vibrant shades of blue and red.

It's almost as if the film makers felt they had to make a radically different suit to show people this is new and fresh to get them over the hump of the reboot but now they are over the hump they can go back to the familar feel of the Raimi suit. Sony were even colouring the webs silver/gray (Raimi webs) on the blu ray cover.

Loved the suit from the very first picture you saw with Garfield without the mask. I thought it looked amazing (no pun intended).
ARE YOU F**KING KIDDING ME!!!! :cmad:

That pun was SO intended. :o

Me too, I was totally jazzed by the design of the TASM suit the first time I saw it, and fell in love with it even more when I saw it in motion and cinematically lit in scenes from the movie.

Loved it at first - First released pictures

Then hated it - When the leaked shots of Spidey running where releaed where the blue looked light blue and the rid looked pink

Then loved it again - When the second trailer was released.

Lesson; Ignore leaked photos as they don't do the subject matter justice.

Well, if he has no web fluid and is pushed out of a plane, he'll need some backup.

This is tragically incorrect but it happens to everyone.

He would fall just as fast with them as he would without them. Hello, webbing isn't air resistant, there's gaps between every thread lol

Maybe if they were like those Spider-man 2099 had in Edge of time.
