And she has already said the Neville will not kill Voldemort and was not the one in the prophecy, so as much as people would like to see what isn't there (i.e. Neville being the chosen one, Harry/Hermione romance, etc)...it just isn't the case.
that will happen! :cmad: :csad:

Something else that won't happen: Ron hooking up with Luna Lovegood.

I don't understand where anyone got the impression that would ever happen in the first place.
Luna showed up in book 5, people took some of her reactions towards Ron as indicating she had a thing for him.

She for him, not him for her.

He has a thing for Hermione...as well as vice-versa...they just don't talk about it because it's sexual tension type ****

After book 5 I believed Luna and Ron would get together. Hermione's treatment of Ron in book 5 (especially when he gives her the perfume for Christmas) implies no affection towards Ron outside of friendly. Luna also drops some hints she likes Ron. However book 6 really leaves no doubt that Ron and Hermione will end up together (assuming they both live)

Was there any flirtyness between Luna and Ron in book six? I don't think so :o (or at least I don't remember it).

I want a little "Ron Granger" or a little "Hermione Weasely".

hehe the latter sounds cool

I reckon the Ron + Hermione romance has simply been tacked on as result of the (allegedly humourous) uncomfortable scenes between Grint and Watson.

There is no real evidence in the books, only the fourth has any small hints. The sixth (made after the films interpretation) contained a lot, but it feels rushed to me.

well they were growing up in the books- by book 4 they would be 14/15 which is when the hormones for boys especailly get going. so i'm not surprised that it started then

I don't remember any interest expressed by Luna towards Ron at all.

She rooted for the Griffindor quidditch team and Ron during the "Weasley is our king" subplot in OOTP, but she didn't seem to be interested in him beyond that.

In HBP, Luna says something about Ron being funny but not very sensitive and that sure didn't sound romantic.

I am I forgetting something?

Neville could use some lovin'.

He really could. Obviously Neviile has been through a lot with his parents etc. He's not exactly the most popular kid at school, but he has his mates. He needs a lady in his life, to give him drive, to give him enthusiasm and well, to give him some lovin'.

In OOTP she laughs a ridiculously long time at Ron's joke, later in the book (I believe during the carriage ride to Hogwarts) she sits staring at him.

The only remotely nice comment I can think of Ron making towards Luna would be in book 6 about how he enjoyed her quidditch commentary. That's not enough to justify a relationship in the works.

Hmmm... I think I remember those parts. I guess I just attributed it to Luna's social awkwardness and big googly eyes without seeing it as a potential crush or anything like that.

Oh, I agree. Like I said, I think if there were anything it was entirely on Luna's end and Book 6 left no doubt as to Ron and Hermione winding up together.

Yeah, I could see it working your away as well. I always took them as a hint that Luna might have a crush on Ron...but even if she did it was always unrequitted and over by Book 6 (she is quite harsh when talking about Ron to Harry in book 6, which may imply that she did have a crush and was scorned.)

Hell hath no fury like an eccentric blonde girl scorned.
