Apparently, they're going with the formal look instead of casual, and he wouldn't want to make a bad first impression at the hearing. I distinctly remember that Harry wore a tee shirt in the book... but that isn't really important. That aside, it's nice to see the red telephone box. I wonder if the sinking of the telephone box will be as visually captivating as the book describes, assuming that they're doing it.

Strange, it didn't work before...

Stupid

the whole deal with Harry's hair is that it's pretty much forever unkempt, unmanageable

bring back my rebel Harry and ditch this pencil-pushing church-going hair comber:cmad:

What can I say, the people handling the films just don't care.

Supposedly, this is the official logo. Courtesy to the HPANA forums.

It's bronze. Fascinating... the last two were silver if I remember right.

The last two were silver....this symbolises the bold new direction they are taking the series :p

^Truly, this is the definition of rabid fanboy. :o:(

I kid I kid. I don't want the series to go in a bold new direction, I want in to go in the direction of what Cuaron gave us.

It's just hair. Who cares?

Cuaron was good stuff.

Mr. Weasely is wearing a three piece suit? Apparently even the adult wizards don't wear robes anymore. I wonder how long until Dumbledore is in a nice Italian suit? :-/

Wouldn't that make him like the Godfather of wizards?

HARRY: "What'll you do professor?"
DUMBLEDORE: "I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse."

Apparently they are trying to make the movies more accessable to the muggle movie goer rather then all the wizard movie goers.

Pointless change if you ask me.

Another one to add to the list of pointless changes.

That pisses me off to no end. Why not just set Lord of the Rings in modern times and have them drive a Ford station wagon to Mount Doom?

The Atmosphere is what makes the books remarkable. JKR has not only written a book, she created a world and culture. To change that shows how little the movie makers know.

That's a little old, you know. :o
Yeah, I figured as much, but there are people who may still have not seen the logo, so... I'd be doing them a favour. Besides, think of it as a visual recalling. The news drought is already dry enough as it is.

About Mr. Weasley not wearing robes, I'm not too surprised. If I'm not mistaken, he wore a pair of pin-striped trousers and an old bomber jacket in the book, so the movie version is close enough. It makes sense for them to not wear robes if you consider the fact that they're taking an underground train in public and they wouldn't want to attract unwanted attention. Hell, let the entire Wizengamot wear non-wizard clothes for all I care, but if Dumbledore doesn't wear his usual robes, heads will roll...

The thing is, look how perfect Mr. Weasley looks. Like you said, he wears a bomber jacket and pinstripe pants, why? Because he is not familiar with how Muggles are supposed to dress. It is all part of the charm of the books.

Agreed.

I'm sorry but I hardly find some of these issues to be huge flaws in the production of the film. They bug me only a little bit. What I think is truly worthy of mention is the omission of Quidditch in the film (thus no Weasley is our King Subplot) and the fact that John Williams isn't scoring the film. (Yes I didn't care for Patrick Doyle's score)
The next gripe is that I think that Producers should have decreed that: Starting with Goblet of Fire all HP films should have a minimum (Theatrical Release) Running time of 3hrs. and 10min.
