Not really surprising. I remember a very well painted teaser poster of Spider-Man with Leonardo DiCaprio as Parker and Nikki Cox as MJ in one of my Wizard issues. Even had James Cameron as director.

Technically, the "official" story was that Ross wanted to see what Welling would look like in the costume. I have a bridge and some swamp land to sell you if you like that explanation better.

Believe the unofficial story, Sage. Even Rob was told about it on the QT, and he was quite miffed, as I recall because of his Fraser site. I remember his exact words: "I feel as though I've just been played." Poor guy.

When Ross posted them to his site the official story was that they were commissioned by Wizard. The only other place to give any sort of story at all was this here SHH! The Wizard story is at least plausible...

Just pointing out past examples of Wizard doing something in the similar vein, that's all.

Ah, but does anyone *really* know that? Even the best inside information is always a teensy bit questionable. It's possible - however unlikely - that it was commissioned for Wizard, and other versions of the story are wrong. After all, Wizard does have that sort of mock-up all the time...

It IS funny to finally admit what I had been thinking all along. Sith started with the lip thing way back in April. He finally clammed up when I saw a photo of him with similar lips as Welling. I told him he was sexy. That shut him up. LOL

Now, I've yet to see a photo of Jc.
