The slim chance that "something very off-topic" (yes, I've seen it) WOULD NOT find its way over here, becomes all the slimmer when comparison pictures are posted for another thinly-veiled contest ...

It's been almost a year. I'm bored already. :(

I've just logged on. Do I need to read some more threads? Beautiful pictures Pat, thank you.

I thought about that. But at least I'm not off topic. I'm also a firm believer in preemptive strikes in order to hopefully avoid what could arguably be the inevitable. And you know me, James. I don't chum for sharks unless I put my chain mail on first. :p

Plus I had the time this morning - something I have less and less of these days :(

It's been almost a year. I'm bored already.
We've got a little less than two weeks to go. Hang in there. You won't be bored for much longer. :D

Thank you for the wonderful wake-up photos, Pat. What a nice way to start my day. :)

It's "chain maille" btw. ;)

Now, I'm off to find out what the heck you guys are talking about.. before it gets yanked.

Nah. Only the ones you want to read.

Beautiful pictures Pat, thank you.

'Tis my pleasure. I've got plenty more. :D

Tanks!

Oh, don't rush; it aint going anywhere, and it's definitely not worth making a big deal over. Besides, it was a lame excuse to post pics of Tom.

Like we need an excuse?

No excuses necessary.

Not quite what I meant. I meant it's been almost a year since the announcement of casting for the SR, and I'm bored of the continuous comparisons ... from both sides of the argument. Triplet's merry-go-round would come in handy right about now ...

Frankly I'm disappointed in the way this whole situation has been handled. In the scope of a discussion about SR on the SR forum, Tom shouldn't be the taboo subject that he seems to be. I don't yell the whole "free speech" spiel, because I know damn well that free speech doesn't exist on a privately owned message board.

BUT, the casting of a movie, and whether or not you agree with it, should be a valid topic of discussion on a message board about that film. I don't see how a discussion about problems with casting is any more invalid than a discussion about problems with the suit ... and there's a thread for that. I wouldn't participate in it myself, but I do think people should have the right to voice concerns and opinions if they want to. And they shouldn't have to "hide" on the Smallville forum in order to do it.

Not to mention that the manips thread should have been moved to Super World, rather than being strong-armed into an SR-only zone. It's very disappointing to see all of that hard work, from so many people, bulldozed into a thread about something that half of its previous participants don't even like! Respect the people who already have, and probably will, post manips of someone other than the Ken doll. Zing posted a manip of Tom in that thread recently. He got mod-slapped for it. Shocking ...

I knew what you meant. I was just saying that there will be a LOT to discuss in less than two weeks, and if you were bored by the constant comparisons, better buckle your seats; when SV starts back up again, there's gonna be a whole new set of n00bs finding their way to this and other boards with the same old redundant questions and comments. :p

Well, I agree. But people like to pigeon hole other people when it comes to their opinions. If you don't like something about SV or SR, you're automatically labeled a fan of the other and therefore your opinion is moot. That's why I don't enter into debates over yonder anymore. What's the use?

I know, and I feel bad about that 'cause I was the one who goaded him into posting there. I thought folks could appreciate the work involved, but if you've seen the last two day's worth of posts in that thread, you'll see why it's probably a good idea to keep the manips separate. 'Sides, we have our own thread for Welling manips. It's *specific* for him only. At its current count of 611 posts, it's the sixth largest thread in the entire SV forum. That's pretty cool.

Anyhoo, SV and SR are both about Superman. To think that one won't be brought up in comparison to the other is silly, especially when both have ties (vague or otherwise) to Donner's classic film. And as I've demonstrated above, there ARE ways of making comparisons without being specific, off topic, or against board rules. When it comes to posting pictures of our dear Mr. W., we could be here for quite a while. LOL :D

Right. Unfortunately I'm lacking patience ... how many boards do you see me posting on with any regularity? And how many do you think I used to post on? When a message board gets too inane and redundant, I quit visiting it.

I dont visit the general Superman Boards, are they posting things over there that us Smallville fans wont like.

Dont mean to pry, but its frustrating ( :D and I mean that in the nicest way possible) reading through your posts and not knowing what the heck you're talking about.

Same ole, same ole, Avid. Nothing new or relevant to SV, so don't sweat it. :)

Here's two from S3, Exile and Slumber:

It certainly is hard to contain yourself.

Does anyone know what they are screening with the extra ten minutes they have after Commencement on Thursday?

I don't, but I sure would like to know. Anybody? Buehler?

According to The WB's Smallville page, they're still going to be showing the BB sneak peek but that makes absolutely no sense. (And they used the wrong form of the word and said it's a "sneak peak"... funny....)

Anyway, the film isn't even in the theatres anymore, unless they're going to be pushing the DVD release....

Hmm. Well, if they're pushing the DVD release (possible), it's gonna be expensive. Warner Home Video would have to buy that ad space, and it aint cheap. I would have thunk Warners would use the time (10 minutes, right?) to market fall films. You know, like that tiny one in November. Harry something? LOL

I was hoping that they'd show a longer trailer for the 5th season, maybe even sneak "peak" that... ;) :D

I guess not but I'm going to TiVO it anyway just in case they do show something I'd like to see more than once.

Now that I would like to see in addition to some rants by the cast.

Gawd I hope the space isn't reserved for 10 min of SR.
Talk about making ties and comparisons THEN! GaK!

oh I'm so glad that was a random thought generated by uncontrolled REM sleep

Nah. It's too early for that. I think if they were gonna run something like the ComicCon footage, we'd DEFINITELY know about it by now. The BB extended teaser trailer was promoted for a couple of weeks prior to the broadcast, IIRC.

All bets are off for the FIFTH season finale though. I could *easily* see them doing the same thing at that point. Would it be potentially confusing, frustrating, and perhaps completely maddening for some SV fans? Yup! I'm writhing in my chair just thinking about it. Would they still do it? Heh. Watch 'em.

Anyhoo.... Here's two more from Ageless:

Ok, I've been holding back from asking this because I didn't want to seem... well obsessed. But why did Tom say in one of the latest radio interviews posted at James site that he just lives with his dog right now? I have no idea why but it's been bothering me since I read it. All these celebrity couples splitting has made me nervous that everyone is getting a divorce. Tom still lives with his wife right? Was he just joking? Was he saying she wasn't home *right then*? Anyone know?
