I don't think that's entirely true. Seems they just twisted Will.I.Am's words from the MTV Video interview.

I mean Tyrese Gibson is in acting and whilst he's not an oscar winner he is a good actor in his defense.
Will Smith also got into acting after rapping and hes brilliant...so who knows....

Just because people dont like Black Eyed Peas or some of their songs or what ever...isnt grounds to say its a bad casting...
