Days of Future Past The Official X-Men: Days of Future Past Merchandise

This is disgusting. And at this point I am - maybe even unconsciously - rejecting everything that has to do with the MCU, due to that obscene Marvel/Disney politics. Marvel turning against some of their most beloved characters is one of the most shocking things I've seen. :cmad:

You don't have to tell me how bad disney Is treating X-Men just because Fox has film rights.

There Is part of me that doesn't want to spend my money on MCU as long as disney keeps trying to bury X-Men.

X-Men are getting their own toys from Marvel Legends, I saw some at toys r us today

I can't say I blame Marvel. They signed a bad deal back in the day and don't want to be punished for it. And they don't have to anymore because of their franchise building prowess. Sucks for X-fans though.

Marvel's not burying them, they're just not focusing on them so much anymore most likely due to their relationship with Fox. And it does make sense; Focusing on making merchandise where you get 100% of the profit over another license where you only get partial percentage, of course you're going to focus on the ones that get you 100%.

And they're trying to push GOTG, which was a mostly unknown property that they're trying to turn into a franchise, so the focus is there - and it would be incredibly stupid of them not to focus on that.

We took my nephew to Marvel Universe Live last week, and Wolverine was one of the Avengers' team, Cyclops and Storm both made appearances, and the X-Men were part of the plot. How is that "burying the X-Men"?

Yes, it's incredibly frustrating that there isn't more X-Men stuff out there (just talk to my sister about that - my nephew wants an X-Men backpack for school and there aren't any), but I think we can dial back the conspiracy theories too.

I was trying to find the Storm figure but there weren't any. I'm pretty sure that's their "chase" figure.

They're still not the best looking figures though. I long for the days of the original Marvel Legends figures. The good ones.

Don't recall the Cyke figure, thought Storm looked okay...surprised Stryfe had a figure and Jubilee was the BAF...but that Wolverine, out of the hundred of figures, that's one of the worst...and unless the costume is a mask less costume, I hate Wolvie unmasked...

off to ebay...

That makes sense for movie merchandise but they get 100% profit from comic merchandise and 100% from cartoons

As for movie merchandise why can't they do both GOTG AND X-Men Days of Future Past?

That would give them 150% profit (100% GOTG & 50% DOFP) instead of only 100% (GOTG)

Agreed they be out of business if not for those properties

Comics yes, cartoons no.
I assume they have a similar cartoon clause in their contract as Sony does with Spider-Man.
They can do both, but they choose to focus on the property that will get them 100% profit instead of 5%.
According to that Vox article, they don't get 50% from anything DoFP related, they get 5%.

what's Jennifer problem with the figure?
in any case, I dont care about a Mystique figure lol

I thought Disney Animation Studios owned the rights to X-Men. Wasn't that the whole reason they canceled Wolverine and the X-Men (UGH), so that they could make their own X-Men series in house...

(need I remind you it's been 7 years since then and no X-Men cartoon. it's complete BS how Marvel is treating the X-Men)

I already accepted like last year, that we wouldn't get any X-Men cartoons and videogames (that aren't mobile games). At best, we would see Wolverine and the others appearing in Marvel cartoons and videogames. But a solo series or a videogame, I don't think so.

Personally, I'm not really sad about it. I'll just look back at the old cartoons and videogames (though the Capcom/Activision videogames aren't available anymore!) then I'll just put all my anticipation to future X-Men movies.

Then with the comics, I don't buy them anymore. I think they are putting out too many X-titles and the quality is not even worth it for me to buy. For merchandises, well I don't really buy them because I don't have a lot of money.

Fox never have animation rights to X-Men.X-Men evolution which premiered shortly after first X-Men aired on WB.Wolverine and the X-Men+Wolverine and X-Men ainie were produced by marvel studios.

Aired on Fox.wasn't produced by them. The DVDs of it are now owned by Disney. It was produced by marvel through animatied studios which are now defucit.

Speaking of animated shows, i bought a number of volumes from the 90s X-Men and Wolverine & the X-Men (the complete collection) on DVD this summer. A department store here finally slashed their prices so i took the bait.

Also, in many supermarkets here, they are still selling the DOFP tie-in Pringles.

Some DOFP merch that was given away as prizes in a contest....
