Days of Future Past The official X-men First Class BD/DVD thread

Yep.It Is.I saw it on there today. The DVD will have it appears the first part of the
documantary.I only have DVD players.

Well, I just watched the first part and yeah, they seriously pimp X-Men and X2 in the first part. Even with the continuity issues, they want First Class to line up with the first two movies mythology.

I'll break down and get it. At the end of the day, it was probably the best comic book movie this summer.

95% sure Vaughn would return for a sequel. In an interview with Laura... Schuller? she was very adamant that though they were still "discussing" sequels to XMFC, Vaughn was a definite must-have. Singer couldn't make me care about the characters in X1 or X2. The XMFC line is extremely character-driven and Singer despite his good intentions, doesn't have what it takes to bring it.

I definitely think it's essential that Vaughn stays on as director, so I hope they do everything possible to keep him on board and lock him in a contract so we don't have an X3 situation.

I have said first Class should be viewed as prequel with liberties(mostly
diologue of what was said of the past) to X-Men and X2.

I still consider X2 best x film but first Class did top X-Men for me.I think
the three of them can be viewed together. It's Last Stand and wolverine
that Is hard to view with first Class.

even though I am pissed with DVD owner getting practully nothing I preordered First Class.Hollywood needs to get it that the US Is In a crappy
economy and some don't have the money to buy new media players and higher prizes for disks.I am lucky to be able every few months be able to
get a new DVD film or TV set.Now If I ever able to buy a Blu-Ray player
In future first Class would be only X film I would upgrade for.The X-Men and X2 DVDS have plenty of special features, and I don't plan on ever upgrading Last Stand or Wolverine.

The link story made me smile more.

"Even with two visual effects Oscars under his belt, effects guru John Dykstra was presented with some of his most challenging work ever for 20th Century Fox’s X-Men: First Class."

"The thousands of visual effects shots in X-Men: First Class helped push the film to nearly $350 million at the worldwide box office and prompts talk that Dykstra could see another Academy Award nomination. He credits the crew of the film, specifically the director, for making the finished product such a visual treat."

Bring on the Oscar!

As nice as it would be, there is no way in heck XMFC will win for VFX. Nothing can beat Transformers 3. Nothing even comes close. That movie absolutely floored me with its animation and VFX.

Caesar says otherwise. Im really disappointed with the special features in this. I was hoping thered be more

Scratch that. I didnt see the children of the atom feature

The Behind the scenes features were on Youtube yesterday morning but by night It appears Fox had them removed since I couldn't find them again.

It seems the feature on the DVD Is part 1 of the 8 part behind the scenes features on
Blu-Ray.

Having watched the supplement material, you could make a strong case that every deleted scene/extended scene should've stayed in the film. Every damn one of the scenes is finished.

The training scenes are essentially extended and because they are used in a montage within the film, you can't really place those back in but they've all got great little nuggets within them.

And yeah, they're all about X-Men and X2 in the supplement material. I think the Last Stand got mentioned maybe twice...maybe.

Kmart has this for 19.99. I don't like the Target cover art or care about combo packs , so looks like I'll be buying a blu ray from kmart for the first time.

I hope the digital comics find their way online.

Here's the cover for the movie-related comic.

I really don't think this should prevent you from buying the film. There are big differences for sure but nothing that really affects the characters.
-Charles walks in X3 and XOW, but who cares about those films anyways
-If Storm and Cyclops are kids in XMFC, they would be in their late 40s/50s in the new movies but the new films could have taken place earlier than we think.
-Charles says he met Erik at 17 when he met him at 30.
-Beast is human in X2 but it's a teeny cameo appearance and maybe in 40 years he found a very temporary cure. Or is wearing an appearance-changer thing like Kurt had in X-Men Evolution.
-Charles and Raven don't acknowledge each other. They must have had a huge fight, or maybe Emma mindwiped Raven, or something.
-Charles says Erik helped him build Cerebro. In the movie Hank built the FIRST one. It has to get rebuilt at some point, and I can definitely see Erik helping Charles build it in a moment of truce. They're not enemies yet, don't forget.

That's all I can think of at the moment. TBH I'd much rather this was a reboot than a prequel and I'd love it if they just went their own way in a sequel. But I think it's a silly thing to not get it just because you don't like the fractured continuities. :P

I think this is something they should definately address in the sequel, have Eric and Charles team up for some reason and build Cerebro together, that would be a great scene and tie the two series closer together.

Who Is to say offscreen after moving to mansion Magneto didn't help Charles rebuild a
version of cerebro at mansion.Cerebro haad to be rebuilt at mansion somehow.

I really wish Fox had put deleted scenes on DVD.A lot of them seem to be extended
versions of scenes.I would really liked to have be able to see the 2 which has the romance between Charles and Moira.

while the BTS stuff was on Youtube they often showed Images from X-men and X2.It
shows which past films they take Into some account.

Hopefully, I'll be able to pick this up in a few days. The film was too awesome for me ot to own on Blu Ray Even thoguh X1 and X2 are still my favorite X-Men films.

is any video from the dvd online yet?

Bought my Blu-ray from Best Buy and they are offering exclusive "extra content" of 2 bonus features (25 minutes of stuff) available through CinemaNow.com.

https://www.cinemanow.com

There's an offer code to plug in to get it free. I did it and set up an account but haven't watched the footage yet.

I preordered mine through Fox connect to get the free shirt and boy was that a mistake. Got the shirt. Didn't get the movie! I am now waiting for them to get back to me about why they didn't include the part I paid for << >> <<

^That sucks. :( Maybe they shipped separately?

Yeah, I assumed Magneto helped Charles put Cerebro together at his mansion. I don't see how Xavier or Magneto could have designed the advanced Cerebro tech, so I'm glad they had Beast do it in First Class. They can still stay in continuity by showing them building it in a future film.

I bought the Blu-Ray at Target but it wasn't the cover I wanted so I went to another store and found the cover I wanted with Magneto on it with Charles on the back of the slid on cover. Can't wait to re-watch it soon as I only saw once in theaters.

You're not the only one. They did the same thing to me. When I saw the UPS bag at my front door, I knew something was wrong. Sure enough, I received only the t-shirt.

Regardless of how quickly they correct the problem (if they correct the problem), this will be the last time I buy anything through FoxConnect. It isn't worth it. I could have gone to Best Buy and bought the movie cheaper, without waiting half the day for it to arrive.

Don't I know it, I work at one!
If they aren't expected to reach us by monday I'm canceling the order and just buying a copy off the shelf. It's insane. I'm going to call on my lunch break.
