They'll give him the Burton treatment. He'll take a backseat as Executive Producer while someone else takes over and gives it a lighter tone.

As I recall WB was considering a JL movie as a sequel to MOS. They got the guy who wrote gangster squad to write a script, and rumor has it they even approached Affleck as director, but he turned it down. According to Zack Snyder, he was the one who pitched BVSDOJ as a gateway to JL. WB liked the idea and let him direct.

Executive Producer Snyder: "B-b-but this isn't Superman! He's supposed to be an edgy, manly, Rambo-tier brooding hero! Not this light-hearted crap."

:o :hehe:

It really depends on how the film does in the BO. Even if the WOM is less than stellar BvS could still do well based on hype alone.

Gotta hand it to WB: They have played their cards well by making the film release worldwide on the same day to prevent poor word of mouth or any leaks prior to domestic opening weekend.

The thing is I've been following Faraci for a little bit and he's been spot on as far as I've seen. For example he predicted this low RT score almost a week ago. People just said he was being a hater, though.

Hating Faraci just plays into what he's doing.

And I'll never trust Umberto again after this, but McWeeney and Faraci still have credibility after all this oddly enough.

A World's Finest film probably would have been a better idea than a full out battle between the two. And not shoe horn in [blackout]Death of Superman.[/blackout]

Yeah if it ends up doing well opening weekend, then they successfully managed to minimize a solid amount of damage

WB should have "sacked" Snyder after Sucker Punch. He shouldn't have been let anywhere near Man of Steel. This has been a LONG time coming.

I am still puzzled as to why he was able to work on Man of Steel and a Batman versus Superman movie.

He was hired by Nolan for Man of Steel because WB trusted Nolan. Bad idea considering Nolan thinks Michael Bay is the greatest thing in the world. WB took that a step further and doubled down with BvS/JLA.

As it turns out Snyder was seventh choice on the list.

There's been discussion that show that wasn't exactly the case. Nolan's picks weren't interested, so they settled for Snyder.

I agree. Plus the conflict in WF would've made a hell of a lot more sense than in BvS, or at the very least, made more obvious the idea that they dislike each others methods but respect each other.

its certainly what I was expecting when it was first announced

This movie is going to make a lot of money regardless of reviews. Snyder is not going anywhere, at least for JL Part One. But, I am not Snyder's biggest fan. Never have been. I would much rather see someone with talent like a George Miller take over.

Miller loves Superman and DC.

Matthew Vaughn has said that he wants to do a Superman movie and the 3 comic book movies he's done so far have been pretty good.

So.....

Miller for Justice League
Vaughn for Superman solo

:woot:

Who were those picks? Seem to remember Duncan Jones was rumored at one point. Judging by the Warcraft footage, not sure he would have done that great with it either.

I think Bruce Timm/Paul Dini should have been in the Godfather role instead of Nolan. Maybe they could have found someone better than Snyder.

No matter how impressive the Justice League looks from the trailers, we all know it's going to be a weak film with Snyder at the helm.

I've been fooled 3 times now by Snyder trailers:
Watchmen
Man of Steel
and now Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

It's not happening again with Justice League.

There needs to be a petition to get Zack Snyder away from DC to try and send a message. I'm sure we could get 100,000 signatures easily.

And folks called me a debbie downer recently, damn you on fire today on Snyder hate.

It's going to require the box office taking a hit for something to be done. I honestly have absolutely no intention of paying money for this again. I'm noticing a lot more negative feedback on twitter now, so it's entirely possible the movie now under performs.

Jake listed them above. And I would like Timm/Dini as well.

Seriously, why merge the bloody threads?

I thought something was different... :(

Can we at least get the title changed?
