How much of David Goyer's work was left as well? I mean did Terrio write a completely new script, or was he just brought in to try and polish up Goyer's draft after he left?

This is what happens when you have multiple "visions" for the story, and try to cram like four different movies, into one. It becomes a mess.

I heard from one rumor that David Goyer was totally unable to turn Snyder's ideas into a coherent script. Terrio was brought in to salvage Goyer's script. In this scenario Terrio just tried his best to turn Snyder's ideas into something that could actually function as a movie.

For JL at least he's not going to be using a Goyer script to launch from, but will still have Snyder telling him what to write. That is if WB wants Snyder with that kind of control

Goyer had to contribute half the script or his name wouldn't be listed as "screenwriter" alongside Terrio. The WGA has rules about these things

I seriously would like to read Goyer's original script. Yeah, maybe it sucks and maybe the dialogue is awful, but I feel like at least Superman would have HAD dialogue in it.

Maybe Snyder really is like Kubrick, he went through the script and every time Superman had dialogue, he ripped it out. :o

I heard Terrio re-wrote about 20% of the script, maybe less. He basically did a quick edit of Goyer's script in the time frame that he had. JL will be 100% Terrio and Snyder though

Except for the first film, Max is not the protagonist of any of these movies. He is merely an outsider that witnesses the events. Fury Road was not unique in that regard. And Miller is a visual storyteller that Snyder could never hope to be in a million years

Correct. The three sequels all just involve Max as a bystander getting mixed up in some other plot that has nothing to do with him personally. Then at the end he leaves to go back wandering the desert. Fury Road is no different than Road Warrior or Beyond Thunderdome with regards to how the character is used.

It feels like, after watching this that Goyer's fingerprints were all over this script. There are rumours both that this was a Terrio page one rewrite and that he only did a touch up but after watching it for a third time it feels more and more like a Goyer script. Fantastic ideas with weird execution and structure.

Basically everything we want to see but not exactly how we all wanted see it.

There was also yet again a scene following Goyer's BB script and MoS script where two characters talk about a sudden, previously unknown threat for the third act. BB - a scene with Rutger Hauer and the other guy talking about washing machines. MoS - The general comes out of nowhere to talk about Zod who also comes out of nowhere. Now BvS where Lex and Supes meet Doomsday for a final battle.

I can definitely feel Goyer's writing in other places too. Just some plain ass cheesy comic book writing which is good for comics but not this. Both also present in BB and MoS.

I'm kinda sick of Goyer getting crapped on.

He frankly deserves a hell of a lot more respect than what the fans give him. Without him Nolan's trilogy wouldn't exist.

I'm glad he's done what he's done but I'm not praise his average scripts.

Goyer's script supposedly dealt with Brainiac (the JL1 villain) instead of Darkseid (the JL2 villain).

Warning: Do you hate Faraci like some people around here do? If so, don't read it and/or believe it...

One of the things that makes no sense at all in the film is Lex Luthor's motivation and his speech at the end of the movie. Sure, you and I, as comic geeks, can extrapolate that he is talking about Darkseid, cruel lord of Apokolips, at the end of the film, but that's generally the kind of info you try to impart in a film*.

* Really worth noting: my understanding is that in the original Goyer draft or outline it was revealed that Brainiac was pulling the strings behind Lex, and he was the one who gave Batman visions. The reveal would set up the Justice League to battle Brainiac in Justice League 1, with Darkseid in the wings for Justice League 2. The Chris Terrio production draft dropped all the Brainiac/vision stuff... and then it ended up in the movie anyway, but without much explanation, like scenes were cut and pasted from one script to another without changing the context of any other scene.

He lost a lot of respect from fans over those She-Hulk and Martian Manhunter comments

And we saw just how well that went.

If you're not confident in your director to manage things on their own, get someone else. No one wants a Frankenstein-level monstrosity.

Thank u.

- it was reported that terrio rewrote his script
- affleck keeps saying terrio wrote a great script
- jesse couldn't stop talking terrio up

but people still bashing goyer
