Cavill's my #1 pic no doubt. He's got the All-American boy look, the most chiseled features I've seen from anyone, and he can act his ass off.

Just checked his height his listed as 6,1 and that might even be Hollywood added height so in reality he might be shorter. If Bale is listed at 6,2 in Hollywood Heights and his roughly 5,11 then whats this guys true height?

What is it with all the made for Superboy actors always suggested for Superman? The guy is called Superman. He should look like a man, not a boyish looking college freshman. Superman should look over 30 years old.

I don't even know why Welling is even in the thread title....Nicolas Cage has a better shot at a reboot Superman movie.

Oh, and if Cavill can fix that nose....he sure has the look.

For a reboot type film, at most he should look his late 20s...30 tops. This is Supes at his earliest, not his prime. Reeve reached that perfect middle-ground.

And Caviezel is way too damn old for this role. ESPECIALLY for a reboot. Not to mention he doesn't have the Superman face.

IMHO Caviezel is perfect for Jor-El.

Well, without getting technical about it, we probably mean the same here. Superman should look like a man.
Different people look different at 35 for example. Michael J. Fox could never have played Superman not even at 40 and not because of his height.
28, 30,32 doesn't make much of a difference. He should look like a man and not like a boy just out of high school, which is how Welling, Routh and this Cavill or Trucco look.

The main problem with Cavill before SR was his age but he matured and looks great now. I watch him in The Tudors and he definitely has the Superman presence and Height. He towers over everybody in the show.

But Cavill still looks like a boy. Look at Bale and see how much he brings to the role of Bruce Wayne. Because he looks like a man. He's got a personality and maturity to his face. Now if Batman was being played by some guy with a baby face the character wouldn't have half the weight it has now. Superman is not Spiderman.

I`ve never completely given up hope that Welling might end up a big screen superman due to smallville ending and the WB seemingly considering a reboot, allthough I do admit that it is a bit unlikely. So, if it ain`t gonna be Welling, than my vote goes to Henry Cavill. I`ve really always liked his look for supes and I`ve been hearing great things about his acting, so if they are indeed going with a reboot, and with a completely unknown, then I support Cavill 100 %. Definitly a good choice.

Very true both Welling and Routh have extra baggage they are now carrying. Routh has the ultra fabulous piece of turd known as SR, while Welling has the ultra fabulous piece of turd known as Smallville.
