I'll be sure to pack my Man Utd footy pajamas.

Yeah, the extortionists are out in force once a big club becomes interested in a player. One of the most ridculous proposals I saw a few seasons ago was when we were interested in Jermaine Jenas who was still at Newcastle. They demanded Sol Campbell plus £15m. He later went to Tottenham for £8m. Absolutely stupid, and a lucky escape, IMO.
Happens all the time & it is happening more & more. With the Ronaldo/Kaka transfer fees & with Manchester City in the market willing to pay moronic amounts of money for average players every club is at it.
Lescott for £22m, James Milner £18m + Ireland
, Aleksandar Kolarov £19m
, Roque Santa Cruz £18m
.. etc
That isn't even taking into account the huge wages they are playing some players just to lure them to what is in all essence still a small club in terms of history & worldwide recognition IMO.
I could list a million players names who have had absolutely ridiculous price tags slapped on them simply because a big club is sniffing round them..
Agreed. City have shot themselves in the foot though, in the sense that due to those OTT wages, they are unable to get rid of players.
I bet Real Madrid or Barca will get some kind of special dispensation if they manage to fall foul of the rules while any Prem club will get booted the minute they are £1 in the red zone.Especially when you consider this:

dont doubt that for a second mate - looks like us united and arsenal would be fine
ive heard rumorus spurs could be in the ****ter if thay dont get champs league next year
I always assumed they were in good nick, they have a cap on their wage bill and when you take into account the fees they've gotten for the likes of Berba and Keane (x2) they have spent reasonably within their means. Then again, they've paid some embarassingly big fees for the likes of Bentley and Bent.
Anyway, if we pay £12.5m for Corluka, I swear to jesus.............
well from what I have heard is that they were spending above their means and need to make champions league at least next year - dont forget they bought keane back for 17mil so only made 3mil on him in the end
Speaking of Spurs.... it's been revealed tonight that, if they get the go ahead to operate out of the Olympic stadium after 2012... they're going to demolish most of it and rebuild it into a football only stadium....
Seems like a waste to me...

Poor result for Arsenal tonight, they put out a strong enough side as well.. I'd be shocked if they didn't overturn this at the Emirates, but still..
After the Chelski drubbing.... i'm surprised Arsenal lost tonight...
Though i'm not shocked Liverpool went down to Blackpool.... this season is going to be REALLY bad for them... and i can't work out WHY...
I almost don't want us too. This group of players bar a few are absolute dross. The can't handle praise nor pressure, and have the mentality of timid mice. They don't deserve to win.
