The Dark Knight Rises The Opening Sequence.

In a recent interview, Wally Pfister made an interesting comment regarding the opening sequence of TDKR:

It’s in Part Two that I join in and talk quickly turns to the new Batmovie. Pfister answers several questions, and makes it clear that he’s deep in prep, has read the screenplay. “As much as possible” will be filmed in IMAX, he promises, and he also makes specific reference the opening sequence being something impressive, something that could live up to, if not surpass, the spectacle of the last film.

This isn't entirely surprising, but I'm intrigued as to what Team Nolan could've come up with that would top the bank robbery opening for TDK. I've seen a few suggestions prior to this of some sort of prison break involving Bane. I could see something like that being very epic.

What do you guys reckon?

a prison break is also something I envisioned but the scheme would be a bit similar to TDK's one: the big villain revealed right at the beginning in a scene where he shows his skills ... so I dunno !

that is interesting... the narration could be like in MI III: the movie beginning with a shocking sequence that's gonna arrive later !

I wouldn't be surprised if the opening sequence is Bane escaping from Peña Duro (or the movie's equivalent). It's hard to say without knowing how much of his story they'll go into. I do think that would have the potential to top the prologue of TDK, though.

I've discussed this before and I still believe they should intercut between Bane breaking out of prison to Batman being hunted by the police as well the news reports of Batman and people discussing his predicament.

I know what you mean about how exciting this is, I wasn't as jazzed before with this film as I was with TDK. Now I am.

A combination of these two would be quite nice. The bat chases the cat, then the police get between them and Bats has to deal with them while his quarry flees to safety.

I think like this: This is The Dark Knight Rinses, it's going to be the last Batman movie ever so the opening sequence has to be memorable in terms of scope and depth. I think it should focus on some kind of political assassination or intrigue.

Good idea. I did like how they set that up in MI: III

could be a hell of a way to open the movie.... that would astonish people to see Bats getting beaten up right at the beginning by Bane (bane who wouldn't be clearly visible)..then Bats, completely knocked out and bleeding is dragged on the floor...then cut to black !!!

I'd love if in Bane's cell there's like articles of Batman all across his cell as he's obsessed in beating him and as we move across them we cut with Batman escaping the police/fighting the mob and crime and with Bane escaping and whilst Bane fights the guards it cuts with Batman fighting the police or thugs.
