I'm pretty sure we're going to see Bane break out of prison.

I could see something like that happening...with Hardys' Bane being involved in a big time prison fight or something.

Prison fight in BB was awesome, I would love to see something like that involves Bane.

 

[Stelze]

Imagine this:

Black screen.

Bane (voice over):
I am BANE!
And I could KILL you!

Bat symbol appears followed by dull yellow mist.

Bane (contd.):
But death would only end your agony and silence your shame!

The symbol comes closer and fills up the screen.

Bane (contd.):
Instead I will simply -

Cut to:

Gotham City, exterior, night, raining - Bane standing on a rooftop holding a bruised and nearly unconscious BATMAN above his head. People gathering down on the street, watching in awe.

Bane (contd.):
BREAK YOU!

Bane slams Batman onto his raised knee, breaking his back, then letting him fall to the ground.

Cut to:

Close up of Batmans Face laying on the ground. He is grunting in pain, slowly slipping into unconciousness.

Cut to:

Whatever the movie would bring next.

Yeah i totally forgot about the next issue when Bane throws Bats down on the street.
I somehow mixed that up.
But I think for a screenplay it would be better this way.
So the people of gotham actually see the fight between Bats and Bane, and that Bane wins.
As a metaphor for the evil breaking the backbone of the city.
Bane then would not only break Batmans spine, but would also break the minds of gothams citizens.

I think that's the closest I can write to paraphrase my thoughts.

If we are having Catwoman and Bane, then it seem logical for one to be with us from the start of the film, and the other to be introduced as the story develops. I think it makes more sense for copyCatwoman to be there from the outset.

In a recent interview, Wally Pfister made an interesting comment regarding the opening sequence of TDKR:

This isn't entirely surprising, but I'm intrigued as to what Team Nolan could've come up with that would top the bank robbery opening for TDK. I've seen a few suggestions prior to this of some sort of prison break involving Bane. I could see something like that being very epic.

What do you guys reckon?

An opening with Bane breaking out of prison and/or fighting inmates like Bruce in BB seems the most probable to me. Although a chase scene involving Catwoman and Bats, with the cops intervening at a certain point(like someone else mentioned earlier) is just as likely, I think.

I originally thought that batman would be running away from the coppers however if the opening has to top TDK's then that is nowhere near epic enough. Banes escape would be a brilliant and action packed introduction to both the character and the film.

The BEST news out of this entire audio interview with Wally Pfister is the fact that TDKR script apparently surpasses BB & TDK. Pfister even goes as far as to call it the "perfect trilogy". Nolan has done it again my friends! Let's enjoy this ride.

that is interesting... the narration could be like in MI III: the movie beginning with a shocking sequence that's gonna arrive later !

I can see that happening, start it off with a bang (or break). With the exception on TDK I think almost all of Nolans films involve hop-scotch type narratives so I wouldnt be surprised if the opening sequence chronologically takes place later in the film.

It would be an excellent way to do it differently than TDK but even more surprising and shocking (just make it brutal then) !!

I'd love if in Bane's cell there's like articles of Batman all across his cell as he's obsessed in beating him and as we move across them we cut with Batman escaping the police/fighting the mob and crime and with Bane escaping and whilst Bane fights the guards it cuts with Batman fighting the police or thugs.

No cheesy Whiplash like stuff, please...

Would prefer it to start with Batman being hunted by the police (which could lead to a scene like in Year One when he's fighting the SWAT team), just to tie it with the last movie in some way. It doesn't have to follow up literally, just thematically.

That would be cool. I'm sure they have plenty of extra takes, so we'd get a Ledger laugh that we didn't hear in TDK.

I think he'll at least be talked about. If they film a scene in Arkham, I think it'd be cool to hear his laugh in the background as someone is walking down the hall.
