Ha, not the brightest 2 enemies there heh.

I took a guy's head off completely last night with a shotgun and was shocked haha. I'll probably make a gif of it tonight.

And after you did that you started playing The Order: 1886.

Oh yikes, haha. I sound like a sick individual heh.

A highlight from last night that made both my brother and I groan. :woo:

From a gameplay standpoint, how does it fair against Gears of War? From what I've seen from this game, they are both similar.

It's been a long time since I've played GoW, but The Order uses standard 3rd person shooter cover-based mechanics...and it does it very well. The mechanics and aiming are some of the smoothest I've played in a long time. It's only a pity that there aren't larger areas to really weave in and out of cover from during a battle (there are some great locations, though). But what is there is very fun.

this game sounds like it could desperately use some DLC. I think a Hoarde mode of sorts could do wonders for replay value. So co-op arena stuff as well

That's actually what I was telling my friend the other day in my initial impressions of the game which I'm really liking. But all the outside noise was pointing to how this may be the first game that I ever have my fingers crossed for DLC.

regardless of these badass reviews, the game is probably gonna sell really well, at least in the beginning. so a sequel may happen.

the one thing that could work against it is that the contrversy is bc its too short. It probably wont be good PR for Sony to release more content for a price. I wonder if they'd consider free DLC, at least for a brief period of like 2 weeks or something

DLC? They didn't even a make a full game and you want people to pay for more content? :funny:

I've seen worse. This game is fine on it's own.

See, yeah I was trying to find some reason behind some of the hate, well the more reasonable haters at least. I guess people were expecting Next Gen evolution in the 3rd person genre. A game exclusive to the most powerful console this generation. Not a "tech demo" As People said before, I guess Co-Op and MP would have smoothed things over with a lot of people. A friend of mine who works at a Gamestop said people were returning The Order "in droves"

Jim Sterling nailed it. The length of a game does matter for the consumer (our money afterall), but that isn't the only problem with the Order. It is a prologue to a sequel with some baffling design and a narrative decisions.

I've seen worse. This game is fine on it's own.
Never a good way to start praise. :funny:

Well I was mainly referring to what you said about the unfinished game. I'm also in the ballpark that this game probably needs more content to be a complete package (not longer necessarily). But it's not as bad as games released that are broken and even brought up lawsuits for crying out loud. I just don't think it's a crime it was released as is. The main issue here is retail price and in my opinion I have a strong feeling that if this was released as a $40 title some reviews would not have been as harsh. Not a masterpiece with 10s across the board but slightly improved from the so-so impressions it's gotten.

Then again I haven't finished the game yet so I can't flesh out my thoughts and criticisms for it just yet. I just know so far, so pretty good. I'd probably give this a solid 7 when I'm done.

Why did you post that?
the same reason I posted the high review video score from the same site with these below in prior posts.

    Short Games & Broken Promises

The Order: 1886 is a handful of hours long, poor ol' Peter Molyneux can't catch a break, and Square Enix might be doing something cool.

Thats not true. The game has receieved a ton of 8s so far. No less than 10

most people said 6-7 range prior to GT's Reviewwhich part of the issue. especially with the meta score from most of them added. Oh EPN.tv have yet to put theirs up cause they were busy resigning contracts to the multiple tv station's like ABC ETC, that their aired at .

So it'll have a late review due to all that. Anyway but that was my under standing of it . it's not the worst game not liked or is in debate bout it's length

okay? That doesnt chance the facts. A simple browse on Metacritic will show you all the reviews in the 8 ranges. That GT one most definitely isnt the sole entry

I'm just remembering from what I saw back then if they were others?, I stopped looking after a certain point it doesn't mean i'm saying it didn't happen just stating what I remember most people over the web over all were freaking out about it. prior to that.

Or one of the more well known ones in GT's case.
