The Order: 1886

Gameplay was terrible. Shift to the left fire, then right, then left. gears of war clone. Won't be buying

I don't care if it's a clone.. Games can mimick other games and maybe even improve on the game it's taking something from. I always enjoyed the gameplay of Gears.. But at the same time I absolutely hate the story and characters in Gears.

That being said I've never really been big on this game. I'm sure the graphics will be amazing (based on the video) but.. Eh.

Great looking game. Looking forward to seeing the finished version.

It was so obviously coming, but it is still disappointing. They kept up the bull for a long while, baiting people to invest. Still I like the new footage.

So what exactly does Sony have for the end of this year, now that they don't have this?

I will say.. Xbox One has a better first party line up right now... I suppose that could change come e3 but I'm glad I have both systems..

As if it wasn't painfully obvious from the footage they've released, The Order devs prioritize graphics and story above gameplay.

Hands-on and Interview: The Order 1886's E3 Demo Showcases Style Over Substance

So of the three key aspects of a game - visuals, gameplay and story - which would you say was your priority with The Order 1886?

I think story and visuals are very high. Gameplay is something that... it's a game, we make games, we can't get around it. We love games, but we also love telling stories, so I think story is always going to be at the top because it's what we start with. It's at the top of the pyramid and everything else supports that. I think it'd be more challenging to make a game for the gameplay's sake, then try to make a story that fits in there.

You mean Gears? I always think of God of War when I see "GoW".
If they start showing interesting stuff, like the beasts that are supposes to be there, then I'll pay attention.

they talks about working with other studio's like Naughty dog among others and what they learned from them.

The Challenges Behind The Order: 1886

The Order: 1886 is easily the biggest game that developer Ready At Dawn has ever attempted, so Vic caught up with creative director and studio co-founder Ru Weerasuriya to learn what challenges they’re facing.

Game looks a lot like the original Resident Evil in tone. Wasn't quite expecting that but I like it

Pre-Order Bonus
Pre-order from a participating retail store or from the PlayStation Network and get the Knight’s Arsenal DLC which includes both the Red Lightning Pack and the Arsonist Pack. Each pack includes an alternate outfit for Galahad and a variant weapon that players will be able to use during the single player campaign, including the Arsonist rifle and the Arc rifle prototype.

Collector’s and Premium Editions
In addition to the game itself, we took great care in creating both a Collector’s Edition and a Premium Edition that draws directly from all the work we have put into the game. Both editions feature statues that depict Galahad in the midst of combat; the Collector’s Edition shows Galahad behind cover, caught in the middle of a rebel firefight in the streets of Whitechapel. The Premium Edition sees him going head-to-head with an Elder Lycan in the London Hospital. The Premium Edition will also include a replica of the Blackwater Vial that the Knights of the Order use to heal themselves. The Vial comes hidden inside a special Art Book case that contains illustrations and details from the game. Both editions will come with a collectible Steelbook and bonus digital content.

The game keeps impressing and interesting me the more I see of it

So the Order comes out Feb 20 and Witcher 3 comes out 4 days later!!

Those editions are ridiculous. :funny:

I am going to be honest, the gameplay hasn't lived up to the hype, but we shall see.

I'm not sure if I can take you seriously...you are judging an entire game based on the fact is has a cover system. LOL

Hey guys. I played the E3 demo. It was a bit short and abrupt.

However, the play style honestly reminds me a lot of Uncharted more than anything, specifically the seamless mix of cinematic story events and the shooting gameplay.

I liked it though I felt like I needed a little more to get a better feel of the game. Story details were really threadbare so it's hard to understand what is going on.

Iv liked everything iv seen so far. Cover system? Good. Creepy atmosphere? Good. Smooth gameplay? Good. Rich story? Good. Incredible visuals? Good.

This game is gonna have to come out to some horrid, putrid reviews for me to pass, even then i still might go with that bad ass collectors edition.

E3 made this one of my most anticipated game of next year. I really like the RE influence I see in it. love the atmosphere and alternate reality past. It'll be interesting to see Ready at Dawn's first original IP. So far all they've done is ports and smaller scaled additions to existing series
