All I know is that they have been trying to start it for 2 years now and alot of people are disappointed that James would be considered for the role as Custer but I think it would be a great film for him to say ahhh haaa. At the actual Preacher site they bash him alot.

By the by, Famke Janssen is going to be on the FX channel (USA)
on the show "Nip Tuck", for 12 episodes starting in the 2nd season which premiers June 22nd.

For those who aren't familar with the show it's about 2 plastic surgeons based in Miami. I've seen funny stuff, I've seen gory stuff and it has a serious side. It's kind of a weird show but I like it.
