The Plot Holes in Spider-Man 3

I'm not defending the movie but ... what can you do to let you know that the symbiote knows everything about Peter? How can you possibly explain that?
:/

D!

True, but Eddie/Venom gives you hints about it. Not too obvious for the not so bright audience.

I don't know if it counts as a plot hole, but more lack of explanation.

D!

its already enough that the symbiote lands right where the only superhero in the whole world is and conners gives a simple dumb explanation of it.

...they could at least tell you or explain what it DOES..

im sure we know because we read the comics and all... but still those brock "hints" to the normal audience are also 'WTF' moments that are never explained.

a) JJJ knew that MJ left his son to be with Peter? What happened with his son, didn't even try to get MJ back? I don't think JJJ knows this...it was never mentioned that Peter told Jameson that he loves a girl named Mary Jane Watson, so that's not even a plot hole. And also, John Jameson was just an "obstacle" for the movie, so he's not needed for Spider-Man 3.

b) Connors should at least make some kind of relation between the black goo, and the fact that Spider-Man turned black and more agressive. He does say the symbiote will bring out aggresion. That's after he studies the symbiote trace for a while.

c) MJ knows that Norman Osborn was the Green Goblin? Nope. But he does know that Peter and Harry are starting to hate eachother because Harry knows the truth too...I doubt Peter told her about Harry's dad.

d) Why did Bernard wait so long to tell Harry about something he knew about Norman's death? What does HE know? Yes, it was his glider, but so what? He cleaned Norman's womb...possibly with some help of Spider-Man and he didn't wanna say anything but as Harry gets more evil, his butler thought it was time for him to tell the truth...don't know why he waited, but I'm not nitpicky, so I don't really care, lol.

e) In the first movie, why didn't the burglar said something like "I didn't kill him" or whatever? He did say, "just give me a chance", meaning he probably wanted to explain, but Peter didn't want him to.

f) Connors isn't a biologist?? WTF? Yah, I know...but he has been studying lizards for an amount of time, so he's been learning...that's why he isn't Lizard yet.

g) How does Venom knows about Sandman's daughter? As far as I know, Spider-Man didn't know about that, so why the symbiote should? Peter could've been told this from Captain Stacy or found it out himself.

h) What happens after Venom's transformation? He knows Peter is up there in the bell tower... Peter is perhaps naked up there... where does Venom go? Where does Peter go? Peter leaves, probably naked...and to get a change of clothes...and Venom just leaves...as you see next time you see Venom, he meant to run into Sandman, so he was looking for Marko...to set up a plan.

If you take time out to think about it, you wouldn't have to make such a stupid thread, :)

How does he know it wasn't Spider-Man who killed him? What if the wounds were from the glider? So what? Still don't get it

Spider-Man is a hero. He probably assumed that if Spidey really did kill Norman he did it for good reasons. But he didn't want to say that to Harry. So, he gave him that bull s--t excuse.

Bernard is always thinking of whats best for Harry. That is what matters at the end of the day.

Whats so difficult to understand? JJJ only cares about money. So what if MJ left his son for Peter. He doesn't care.

Yes it was.

Okay. To begin with, the photo was a fake! And the Bugle had to release an apology and explain themselves. The photo Brock altered was that of normal Spidey. So, for all we know the public didn't even know that Spidey was actually black! That black suit Spidey photo was just a regular Spidey turned black! So, why would Conners think that the symbiote took over Spider-Man? There was no real evidence of Spidey doing anything bad.

Well, not everything needs to be explained in the movie. For example, no one said 'Venom', but everyone knows Venom would be in the movie.

There are scenes in the movie which are self-explanatory. I think Sam assumed the audience knew about the background of Spiderman.
really? arad said that fans whant venom nto general public :o

avarage joe doesnt know who venom is and he doesnt know hes name. in the movie people got eddie with teh symbiote(ups sorry it was not the symbiote but and alien).

for christ sake tehy didnt even gave him teh nam venom.

shame on you raimi for doing this movie. you could go away from this movie and let another guy finish it. i would have mroe respect for you because this is a bad movie from you.

Then don't reply.
There are already stupid threads out there, you might aswell make posts in those too.

D!

apparently the symbiote doesn't have a weakness for heat/fire in this movie, it never seemed to react around fire, especially coming from a meteor.

And...everyone knows Spider-Man and Venom...so we don't really need to know the "explanation", lol.

Maybe some people would know Green Goblin or whatever, but I can tell you everyone would know Venom...why? He's kick ass.

I think the biggest plot hole was the whole sandman birth

YEah, I think him reforming himself and taking the first steps was one of the best scenes in the movie

But:

1. he runs from the police an somehow ends up in a scientific facility in wich you can just climb a fence and end up in the testing grounds
2. why none of the officers behind marko climbed the fence
3. How come in the lab or control room, some says "don´t worry is just a bird" and everything is OK
4. after the experiment... didn´t any of the scientist go check if the experiment was succesfull
5. why the locket didnt turn into sand?
6. WHAT WAS THE WHOLE POINT OF THE DAMN EXPERIMENT!!!

in SM2 we knew what octavius wanted with his experiment... but in this we don´t get a clue... it was just an experiment to see if they can´t demolecurize (I know I must have writen that in a wrong way) sand into sand?... how to make sand out of silicon the most expensive way posible?
how to make a sand storm with lights in a hole? A gigant sand blender? how to turn a man into sand?

Oh, don't worry, I check out the other lame threads. But wanted to answer your questions, since you didn't know.

I should have a signature like this: X!

A 'Pumpkin Bomb' exploded in Spidey's face but didn't scar him in SM1, the same thing disfigured Harry's face and outright obliterated Eddie Brock/Venom in SM3.

Nice one.

e) In the first movie, why didn't the burglar said something like "I didn't kill him" or whatever?

Robber: "Give me a chance!"

Spidey: "What about my uncle?! Did you give HIM a chance?!"-Apparently, he did.

Since when do any of these comic book villains make any sense? You knew from the getgo that you were gonna get a nonsense transformation like that! So, I don't know why you're complaining.

In Spider-Man 2, they made a good explanation to Doc Ock, but it's kind hard to sum-up a 'molecular experiment' explanation, so I say just forget about that being a "plot hole", lol...it was just an amazing site to see...but I'll answer two questions: Cops are usually fat, so it's hard for them to climb fences; and the locket didn't turn because...it was metal? Maybe?

Nice one.

Peter had a mask protecting him. Harry didn't. End of story.

Why do people wonder what happened after Spiderman took off that black suit? Do people really want to see Spiderman naked swinging back home? That's pointless. There are a lot of scenes that just fade away without explanation.

I wonder why Venom didn't go up for Peter, knowing he was there.

The bomb disfigured Harry cause the bomb was in between a brick wall and Harry Osborn, it had to mess something up. And that's why it only shredded Spidey's mask, because there was a huge space where the bomb landed, so it exploded, taking things around him and also taking a chunck of his mask...and, I am one of those guys who doubt the bomb destroyed Eddie Brock and the symbiote, even though it showed a skeleton...I will say that it took some skin, almost kills Eddie, but the bonding DID happen beforehand, and Venom escaped. Only my theory.

yea that was ****ing stupid.... and easily fixable if anyone had paid any attention that they said "eddie" in the first movie........

I could have sworn that JJJ or someone else mentioned the last name, brock. I really have to watch the 1st 2. I know brock was mentioned. It was stupid to just say that he was "new". Thats why brock should have been shown in one of the films. Before he gets the symbiote.

I also think the symbiote just landing was a little stupid. They should have tied that to the JJJ's son brining it back from space.

It's not a stupid thread. Some of you're explanations are pretty stupid however.

My explanations are explanations that would be in comic books however...simple answers to simple questions...if you read them, they are obviously simple answers, not mind-sweeping solutions.

I wonder why Venom didn't go up for Peter, knowing he was there.

D!

1) Venom needed to learn his powers.
2) He wanted to make a fool of Spider-Man in front of everybody.
3) He wanted Sandman to back him up.

Whats so difficult to under about that?!

And when Robbie said the name Eddie in the first Spider-Man movie, it was just a homage...Raimi never wanted Venom as a villain, so he did that to pay homage to the character most likely, and then Arad came in to Raimi to put Venom in the movie...and Brock was never used until Spider-Man 3 by the way.

Spiderman and the Butler cleaning Norman's corpse together is pretty far fetched.

And I don't get the experiment complaints with alot of you. Any idiot can figure out that they wanted to de molecularize sand, into smaller. Sand is just way too big these days.

Meh I don't buy that.
Im glad thought that you do enjoy and understand this kind of story-writing.
