So this morning my reissue Prowl and Smokescreen showed up.

Pics
Boxes. Appearantly customs opened the box and Prowl has a knife mark down the front. Not the end of the universe considering that you can't really see it.

Alt modes. I also stuck in a Super Gobot, Zeemon. As all three happen to be the same type of car, a Datsun Fairlady.

Bot modes. As you can see Zeemon similarities are only in alt mode. Also Prowl did come with both launchers and all missiles, I'm just never going to use them in bot mode. It just doesn't look right.

I had the original Prowl back in the 80's...until my sister broke it.
I'm loving these re-issues. Only one I have so far is the (awesome!) Soundwave one.

Well your in Britain. I've heard tell that some British TRU's still have old stock of commemorative series on their shelves. Worth investigating I think.

My local TRU (were I got Soundwave from) has a tone of Inferno's, Powls & a few Skywarps from what I've seen, but that's about it.
They're really crap right now. Don't even have any Classics at all. Just loasda left over movie merch.

The movie line running till January or March. Not surprising they still have movie stuff. And you didn't buy the reissues why exactly? I would've in a second.

To be honest, I'd rather spend my more on the Classics line. If you compare the re-issue Skywarp to the Classics Skywarp, there's just no competition in my opinion. But some stand the test of time better than others I guess.
Plus I wanna make sure I have enought money to buy the Masterpiece Starscream once it lands over here. Anyone got any idea when that'll be btw?

November sometime, some theorize it will be a "black friday" special. But I wouldn't hold my breath. Wal-Mart is extremely sketchy with their exclusives. Never know though, Wal-Marts UK branch might get some and they might not.

Now me I've got an Alternator Sideswipe and a reissue Sideswipe. And come fall '08 I'll be the proud owner of a Classics 2 Sideswipe.

Hasbro are continuing with the Classics line are they? That's good news. Don't s'pose you know what the line up will be yet? Besides Sideswipe. Who I'll no doubt pick up.

And calling it Universe. In fall '08 they are going to have an assortment of 8 deluxes and 3-4 Ultras (bigger than Voyager smaller than Leader with ligths and sounds). Hasbro has only confirmed Sideswipe/Sunstreaker and Octane. There goal is to do the line as economically as possible (IE molds that can be repainted once or twice at least) and not have characters that are nearly identical appear in Animated and Classics/Universe at the same time. So some characters are rumoured/hinted at are an Ultra class unique mold Galvatron, Ironhide (with a Ratchet redco later on), Prowl, and probably Jazz.


EDIT: Also Takara is relasing the Classics mold at years end. And they claim to have more "anime accurate" colour schemes. AKA Grey/black/red Megatron. The first 4 are going to be Prime, Megs, BB, and SS.

Bit of a cop-out on Hasbro's part wanting to go with one's they can re-paint as someone else, but I s'pose they've already done that with some of the Classics range already.
I would like to see the rest of the Dinobots made though. Even if it means they're released as a boxset.

It's not really a cop-out. A solid 1/4 of the original G1 cars were repaints/remolds. And Sideswipe is going to be a remold of Sunstreaker. The concept pics they have showed as much.

So if they make molds of Prowl, Ironhide, Hoist, Inferno, and Sideswipe. Then repaints or remolds net you, Bluestreak, Smokescreen, Ratchet, Trailbreaker, Grapple, Jazz, and Red Alert.

The only ones that have potential to really suffer are the ones without repaints like Tracks and Skids. Wheeljack you could get from BB's mold.

Now as for the Dinobots. 3 are bound for Animated, Grimlock (who's Dino head looks somewhat like Trapjaw), Slag, and Swoop. Add to that Hasbro doesn't want to do animal alt'ed Classics in the first assortments. Means that if they did do Dinos it would only be Sludge and Snarl and not till 2009.

I dont know dude...I'm more of a classic fan! That dosent mean he looks bad, just that I like more the classic Prime!

So do I but you have to admit hes way better looking then Armada,Energon or Cybertron Prime.

Let's not get crazy here. Fatimus Prime may be a pig but Armada and Cybertron Prime are nice looking TF's.

Cybertron Prime wasnt that bad.....Armada may have looked better with a different paint app.......but nether was as good as RID Prime.
RID's Prime only draw back was his super mode's head.

Hey all! I got Longarm! I had no idea he was an Autobot! He's so kick ass cool. I think he's the best non movie guy, followed by Dropkick.

I customized him by removing his arm cannon and tow truck part. This way, I can connect it to his other arm in robot mode when I want, and I can take it off if it gets cumbersome (as it often does. I've noticed I like to keep it off him in Robot mode) And I can connect it to his other arm in vehicle mode, so he is still a tow truck, and the transformation is complete.

I gotta say, the toy is awsome. 9 out of 10. My only beef, the coloring of the front hood. I don't really get it. Other than that, he rules.
