Gerard Butler As The punisher

I would like to look for an unknown, but out of the current group of known actors I would cosign Butler. Would like a fresh face, not Jane or Stevenson.

I hope that Punisher doesn't debut for a while and he's introduced as a villain in one of the Netflix series as a crazed vigilante who goes so far over the edge that he has to be stopped. In fact, I'd give him his own episode to tell his origin just to get it out of the way.

That or I'd wait until Phase 4, then give him his own TV show.

Yep I like that idea. Maybe the 2nd season of the Netflix shows can have Punisher as a common "villain" for Luke Cage and DD. Kingpin hire's Luke as a bodyguard from Punisher, Daredevil is hunting punisher as he see him as a gun toting psycopath. There path's cross. Shenanigans ensue. Season finale they reach common ground/mutual respect and go there separate ways. Then Punisher spin off show.

Punisher on Daredevil seems like an almost certainty given the showrunners comments.

I just had a fangasm. If Punisher shows up on DareDevil they may retell the story that made me a diehard effin fan of Punisher to begin with....

I was about 12 years old when I first read this. I hope he includes the famous line..

Recast. As much as I liked Bernthal in the Netflix show, I think a full recast is the right move. If Bernthal as Castle was to return in a Disney+ property, would it be the same Castle as in the Netflix shows? Same questions would occur for Charlie Cox and Krysten Ritter.

I would love for him to stay as well, but bringing back some of the Marvel Netflix actors as their characters bring on a lot new questions that would have to be answered. Right now I am a little dubious of the Charlie Cox in Spider Man 3 rumors. Bringing any of the Marvel Netflix actors back with their respective characters would have to take place at the same time as the rest of the MCU.

I’ve seen several sites this past week reporting that Marvel has the rights back, so I’m assuming it’s already a sure thing

That's fine and all, but we already know Bernthal is coming back and this thread has had zero responses in 2 years. So why did you decide to comment with "I hope it's a recast" when thr point is moot and Bernthal coming back was decided for almost 2 years? This is a fairly useless reply and thread bump. The recast. I should have clarified it, its for post Multiverse saga, if the Punisher gets his own film which I prefer rather than another series. I don't think Jon Bernthal can lead a Marvel film.

And I'm also not sure, if Jon Bernthal was confirmed by Marvel Studios in the first place especially now, Daredevil Reborn is going through rewrites.

1 - Your clarification was not at all clear in the previous post

2 - Instead of bumping a hella old thread that is obsolete at this time, post something about it in a relevant forum. Such as in the Born Again forum

3 - Don't uselessly bump a bunch of dead threads that have been dead for years unless you have a good reason to resurrect it. Such as a news article relevant to the topic or something. Otherwise it's borderline spamming by bumping multi year old dead conversations
