This show could legitimately be in danger of losing to iZombie (averaging a 0.55) next time they go head to head, which is February 2.

Such a shame. I really like this show, but it is definitely headed to cancellation-ville with those ratings.

well I guess that's the good thing about the setup of the show with these short, contained season runs... if it ends after this season, at least we got two 10 hour Peggy Carter movies

I honestly wasn't even expecting a second season so at least we got that.

With below 1.0 (18-49 demo rating) and its only the premiere episode, its definitely getting the boot unless ABC surprises us again. Its either gonna get 0.9 again next week or 0.8.

it could possibly go up
I know it's very rare, but a lot of fans tuned into DC's dawn of justice nonsense, so without that competition next week maybe it'll improve

It's much more likely that the show will decline rather than increase or stay steady.

A 0.8 or 0.7 would be my best guess for the next episode, and this season I have tended to guess too high rather than too low when it comes to ratings predictions.

I'm goin optimistic, and saying, not a huge jump by any means, but a 1.0 for next episode

I hope that instead of ABC cancelling this, Netflix picks it up and gives it more seasons. I guess people want to see the early days of SHIELD, which this show isn't giving. However, put it on Netfli and have it become more of a period political drama with action and I can see it have longevity.

0.9 again, 2.9 million viewers.

0.871 is the unrounded number, so it could easily adjust down to 0.8

not good

Yeah, it's not. I would argue the numbers are more complicated as a midseason replacement because the goal is to at least make more money than a rerun, but I'm not sure it can necessarily do that with those ratings. It's gotta do better than CW shows, at least.

I dunno. I think television networks are now starting to understand that people these days are more into binge-watching, and are not watching each episode, week by week.

The best hope at this point is that Netflix picks it up.

None of the streaming services wanted a piece of Constantine last year, and its season average was 0.92. Agent Carter is sitting at a 0.91 after three episodes.

I'd be shocked if Netflix wants it. They're more likely to keep going with their street level hero shows.

Sucks about the ratings. This show deserves much better.

That said, when they first brought up the possibility of Peggy getting her own show, my first thought was, "that would be awesome, but it'll never happen." I'm very grateful to have gotten 2 seasons of this, as it's more than I ever expected.

Constantine had to carry a time slot for a season. This is a midseason replacement. I think ABC knows if they don't play Agent Carter, they aren't going to have a full series in its place, just random reruns. That's really its best argument to keep going.

That being said, it's also an argument why Netflix won't pick it up. They don't have the same incentive.

Ratings are so over rated. We just "cut the chord" and only watch on HULU the next day. Everyone should get rid of cable or satellite and do VOD.

How are ratings "OVERRATED" when the entire television fraternity bases their judgement of all shows on them?

Less and less people are watching live tv. The live + numbers are a more accurate reflection of who is watching the show.

As a family we came to the conclusion that paying $175 a month for cable and Internet is absurd. With high speed internet we get everything like we normally would, just a day later. And since there are no shows we watch when they premier, why pay that much?

rating will continue to drop for most shows. The only thing that will get decent viewers are live sporting events.

Same. This series has earned a place on my quality, short-lived shows shelf.

Agent Carter is looking like my 2nd favorite 18 episode show, right behind "Freaks and Geeks".

More specifically the advertisers that fund the networks base their judgment on the ratings, so the networks have to go along with it. And advertisers only care about the number of people watching their ads. People who watch on DVR a week from now and fast forward through all the commercials are worthless to them.

Yup. While there are many other factors and revenue sources like DVR sales, demographics, streaming rights, international broadcast rights, etc., for a network show, ratings continues to be the single most importance metric when networks are gauging a show's "health".

If Agent Carter is cancelled, I will grudgingly accept it and hope they go out on a high note.

If that's the case, I'll keep my fingers crossed that maybe in some time they bring Peggy back skipping ahead 5 (or so) years in the show's chronology with a Director Carter miniseries. And this time around, maybe we'll get to keep the Howlers and Stark around as series regulars.

I can only hope ABC has lower expectations for a midseason filler show than it does for a regular show.
