I agree. Decoys and Legend of Chun Li comes to mind when I think of ''among the worst''.
And I'm not saying this just to express my hatred towards them.

I don't think they had the Mercenaries mode until RE4, dude.
I looked for RE3 on Wikipedia, and it is said: There is an unlockable minigame titled "The Mercenaries - Operation: Mad Jackal". The player can choose from Carlos, Mikhail, or Nicholai, the three UBCS members that appear in the main game. Each character possesses a different inventory, causing drastically different strategies for survival with each character. The objective of the game is ostensibly to run from the cable car to the warehouse office (two locations in the main game) within a limited amount of time;

I think that's what I played back then.

The argument I've heard from a friend, has convinced me that the RE movies aren't the worse things really. And, it mostly has to do with how hammy and ridiculous the RE games stories have seemed.

That said, I could never seem to get through any other RE film other than the first one (which wasn't awful).

I think for me, all I've ever wanted out of an RE film was a Leon starring film. RE2 was the first in the series I'd ever played, for the N64. And then RE4, which was also with Leon, was another big game that I got into for the PS2.

Yea i agree with Havok.

Even putting aside the hatred i have for them using the RE name, i still hate the films. Paul W. Suck Anderson, well, sucks. Dude has never done anything worth a damn.

I know ALOT of gamers feel this way, too.

The biggest sign of how gamers feel about Anderson's work, for me, was when, about a year ago maybe more...a little before Christian Bale said he'd be interested in playing Snake, Anderson had stated in an interview that he wanted to bring Metal Gear Solid to the big screen and direct it.

People lost they're ****. Hideo Kojima even publicly stated that Anderson was coming nowhere near Metal Gear.

Dear god, I must see the old threads reaction to this on some forum.

Are you sure he didn't mean Uwe Boll? That's a man who wrecks movies regardless of their origin.

All that was mentioned was Anderson who despite being a less than stellar director would still be many steps above Boll.

A blind ferret would be many steps ahead of Uwe Boll, so thats not saying much.

Fans around the world make of Uwe Boll, yet somehow the dude keeps getting money to make movies, so he's doing something right i guess....

I think he exploits some kind of tax loop hole.

He was until they closed it in 2006. How he's still getting movies made however is a mystery to me. Maybe he made a deal with Satan. As in when he dies and goes to hell he keeps making movies to torture the damned with.

Sadly, however, Uwe Boll's days as a human tax write-off are over: in January 2006, the Make Money By Investing In Failed Movies loophole will be closed. So, where is the guy going to get his finding now? Are you thinking what I'm thinking? FREEDOM!
Moviefone October 2005.

Ok, then. I am clearly wrong. But then again I haven't played the first few games in many years so it's easy to forget the early incarnation of MM. But I still say that it has evolved into a very fun mode and that it shouldn't be neglected in RE6 and several improvements can definately be made. Perhaps even write in a small storyline (the way they wrote Ada's sidestory as an extra mode in RE4) so it feels like there is more of a purpose of slaughtering as many zombies, Las Plagas or Uroboros as possible and that it leads you somewhere; this way they can keep the fans that liked the action in RE5 and also keep the fans that preferred the horror in the previous games (as they've said that they'll go back to in RE6). Two birds with one stone.

I'd like that. It'd make things more interesting.

I think I'd do a good job creating good games and especially improving games that are already good :D
I have so many ideas for cool games; got one idea about a monsterhunter game, an online MMO set in a zombie apocalypse where you gotta use your brains to survive, a superhero game (with 50+ characters I've created myself) that would definately be R rated, a ninja game that would be kind of like a mix of the Tenchu series and the actual legends that said ninjas posessed mystical powers.
But the coolest idea I've had sofar is a game based on slasher movies where you create your own psycho killer and stalk your victims in a series of different, and very large, maps all based on the classical stuff you've seen in slasher movies with hundreds of different ways of killing stupid cheerleaders, fratboys and all the other archetypical victims (with bonus points for creative and original executions). This game would start another media storm like Mortal Kombat did when it first hit the market, with people *****ing about whether or not things have been taken too far in videogames.

well it looks like the HD releases of the games have been delayed a week. RE4 will now come out 9/20 and CVX will be 9/27. In honor of the 15th anniversary, PS+ subscribers get the original trilogy free for download and 50% off the HD games. Thats pretty much $20 for all of the first 5 games in the main series

Too bad Xbox doesn't get anything special. I would love to replay the old games on my xbox. My damn PS2 broke and I've been cut off from classic RE for some time now.

Thats always been the release date.

I could have sworn I read somewhere that each was a week earlier.

Here's an answer to why there's a sale price on the PSN

Christian Svensson said:
The simple answer is this:

On PSN, we have control over pricing and merchandising to a high degree, including limited time frames and limited audience promotions. This flexibility allows us to do experiments like this to learn about digital sales mechanics.

While we work closely with MS on promotions (and we love working with them) we don't have the same flexibility with their systems.
So to answer the original question, there are no currently planned price promotions on Xbox for those titles.

Lastly, we have done MANY Xbox related promotions over the years and will surely do others in the future. To suggest that we've thrown more bones to PSN would be factually incorrect. We're only now just starting to catch the PSN users up a bit.
