Considering how none of the people responsible for those games are actually there anymore, I'm not sure sure what bar that would actually hit. One of the things that made REMake so good, I think anyway, is that it was still done by the same director and team from the original game, and they were able to add and update to the game in a way they wanted to do with the original but couldn't because of the hardware.

Besides, RE3 sucks anyway. I don't understand what people see in that game. I'd rather just have a brand new game than waste resources on REMaking that pile.

Yea that's true, but the game is there for ya, all ya have to do is update and tweak. Shouldn't be that difficult, original team or not. I mean I'm not that picky, just give me RE2 that looks like it came out today, you don't have to add a single new thing.

As for RE3, it's my least fav of the early gsmes, but it's still far better than anything post RE4

And I say remake all the old ganes because Capcom has proven they aren't capable of making new, quality RE ganes. They havent since 4. Might as well go back and remake what was actually good titles

I love RE3 only for Nemesis. The rest of the game is pretty meh.

In theory, this is true, but without the original people there to keep the vision in check, there'd probably be a lot of temptation to shift it into something a lot different. I don't think it'll ever happen, but I think it could go either way.

And I would, 100%, take RE5, RE6, and RE: Revelations over RE3 anyday. That game is just so subpar. But I'm not an "old school" fan in the sense most "old school" fans identify themselves. I like the older games fine, but I enjoy the newer ones, too. I think both have their strong and weak points, and don't care much for the notion that the series should be silted by nostalgia.

Yea thats prob a good point.

Ew. RE3, even with all its faults its still miles better than the garbage, Call of Duty clones we have been given post 4, minus maybe Revelations. Theres a reason those games sold well(5 and 6) and it wasn't because they were good RE, survival horror games, it was because they could rope in a large section of the crowd that plays Call of Duty and other mindless shooters.

I might not have a big issue with 5 or 6 if they were part of a different series. Its the fact they are part of a franchise and do nothing well within said franchise. They have horrid enemy design and absolutely zero focus, something the series has NEVER had an issue with up to that point.

I don't know how anyone, who calls themselves a fan, could say RE 5 or 6 is better than 3. At least that game pretended to be a RE game. 5 and 6 were masquerading as a third person CoD clone with monsters.

Lol, okay. I think this post about says all there is to say.

I loved RE3 when it came out. It was a good game. If it ever got re-released, it would need to be remade bc like the other games of that era, it simply does not hold up at all

.
I can see how one can say that about 6 (bc it suffered from identity crisis) but not 5. 5 had focus. It knew what it wanted to be and it did that. It had a streamlined story and it wasnt all over the place in terms of its vision or gameplay.

Yea the bad enemy design was aimed more at re5 with the zero focus being aimed at 6.

Question, did any of U actually beat the REmake without using a guide? I used a guide when I originally played it and even now have to refer to it. I'm just curious if u guys did it without it and how. Did ya basically just go to all the rooms finding items and then being like, oh yea, this must unlock that door I passed an hour ago?

I honestly dont remember. I think I may have for location of Crimson Head zombies bc those things freaked me out. They made an already tense game that much more intense. I dont think I wanted to be caught off guard by those things..lol

Any ideas on who the mystery villain is for Revelations 2?

I bet it's Wesker. :p
Probably Ada :o
ok so I put up a pod cast from game informer here i this thread where they talked about this it's another terrorist group & the head is a female but it's still unknown. One interesting guess was that it might be Sherri Berkin's Mom. but it has yet to be revealed . there are alot of women & Ada while mentioned was skipped cause she was busy during this event which is between 5 to 6.

Haha, honestly reading the strat guide back when this came out made it tougher for me to go through because i knew precisely what was around the corner and didnt want to face it. Knowing a hunter was going to be in the hall way had me pausing for hours before i decided to open the door.

But yea, Im not sure how i could of gotten through this without a guide. There truly is no direction in terms of where the player is supposed to go. Which is great as it does require exploration and thought, but man I wouldn't not want to be trapped in that house without any idea of what I needed to do. So to you guys who beat it without the strat guide, then or now:

Still say it's Wesker.

Or kid Wesker. He still exists right?

Wesker kid is the one in 6 called Alex if there's another one which is possible they haven't shown that other one yet.
But Alex is working with the good side. most of the other's are said to be dead. they said the villain of this peace is female though . so...

I never played 6. Never had an interest in it. Love the song one guy made to make fun of it though.

RE6 was mediocre, not even Leon could have saved the game from reaching such level. *sighs* What a waste of potential.

Not hyped for Revelations 2, the first one was good, but there's something about this one that...Idk, I just miss the good old zombies, the remastered version actually helps in some way.

Having never played any of the RE games, I am going to pick up the remake. Seems like a good starting point.

It is but from what I remember it was pretty tough, especially with the Crimson Heads. Stupid super zombies.

Lisa was pretty scary! I still prefer the good old original version!

The original gets nostalgia points but actually playing it is rough when playing either 4 or 5 in comparison, even REmake is much better than that.

It absolutely is.

Yea it's a tough game. Not very forgiving and absolutely refuses to hold the players hand. The crimson heads are avoidable for the most part, just don't kill any standard zombies, or if u do, burn them. You should have plenty of kerosine to burn all the zombies u do kill. If done right, u should only come across 2 or 3 crimsons the entire game.

I would give it a try one day. It is highly underrated
