I just read through Ada's convoluted history above and I'm in the reboot camp. Go full new 52 on the series.It been long enough there are tons of gamers that have never played 0-3, maybe add a little more action but don't get too far away from survival horror. I can dream I guess..... since re7 is rumored to be announced at e3 Im sure it will never happen.

As soon as their done with this series and ready to reboot I'll be done with the series. some how I know they will mess that one up too.or I be hearing others screaming that they added Alice and I don't want to be around for it.

RE6 may not have been true to it's roots but there was one monster that creeped the hell outta me... not sure what it was called, but it made the most sickening sound. Leon encountered it in a Chinatown fish market and Chris fought it on a boat, and Jake fought it in the underwater base. Everything about it was frightening. the way it moved, sound and even the way it killed... a shame there weren't more enemies that scary in the game.

Reliable hardcore Resident Evil fan "News Bot" has posted hints towards the new RE game to be revealed at E3:

-It's not Resident Evil 7, but a spin-off like Revelations.

-There are three returning characters. Two female and one male. Two haven't been seen in over a decade in a canon game story and one has never had an "in-game" appearance.

-Regarding the one who doesn't appear in-game, I should be a little more specific. They are mentioned in games but are a background character with no "active" appearance yet. It's not someone from the canon movies/comics.

-Like Revelations, the game will center on these three but will also have a plethora of other characters.

This is all he'd say since he didn't want to lose his sources. Funny enough, his hints/rumors have appeared on several sites already. This guy runs Project Umbrella and only posts factual information, to include several interviews and histories regarding the RE franchise over the years. The guy doesn't bull ****, so here's hoping he's telling the truth.

My money is on Rebecca, Claire, and Alex Wesker or HUNK. Rebecca and Claire are two females that haven't been in a canon game story in over 10 years. HUNK has never been in a game story officially since RE2 and has since only been in mini-games (also had his own document in CV). Of course, there's Alex Wesker mentions in RE5's Lost in Nightmares but we've yet to see him (or possibly her?). Barry and Billy are also possibilities as they haven't been seen in 10+ years in an official capacity neither. I could say the same for Carlos and Steve I guess. As for a possible female never having an "in-game" appearance, my only guess is Veronica herself.

So, any guesses as to who the three characters will be?

Claire should have been back as a protagonist ages ago so I'll take her. Heck even a supporting role would have been nice in a game post CV

There were also these images that may or may not be fake. The 3DS image seems photoshopped (with the cropped Capcom logo) and the website has since been taken down by Capcom and apparently was never on an official server from Capcom.

Assuming these images are true, could the two characters who haven't been seen in an official capacity in-game for over ten years be Claire and Steve and the character never seen in-game but only mentioned be Veronica? Two females and one male. There were also rumors of a "Revelations 2" starring Claire last year.

However, I've read that News Bot also said it's not a remake they're revealing at E3, so this is likely fake.

I wish they'd release a new Outbreak game. Those were so fun. I never had the internet adapter for my PS2 but I had a gameshark. That was really fun.

I've been wanting to play as HUNK for years. Like.. A legit story, not side mission crap.

It was one of my favorites. RE2 will always be my number 1 RE game, but CV is a very close second. Great game.

I don't really have an idea what about it made me so mad because it was so long ago, I just remember that I don't like it.

My favorite in the main series has to be 3 followed by 2 then 4 and the REmake. I loved the Outbreak games though and if they do plan on rebooting or something then I want another one as something like that today should be amazing.

For me it was between that…and the boob monster…

Interesting fact, RE:CV was supposed to be RE3 and RE3 was supposed to just have the subtitle "Resident Evil: Last Escape" I think there was dome backroom deal between Sony and Capcom that made the switch.

As for Claire, it's long overdue. Her last canon appearance was in that Degeneration movie and RE6 was trolling with the Claire references.

To add to that, if Claire is in the next one, to me that tells me the tone would shift back to the older REs as Claire is a civilian compared to the other characters who were more action focused....

Well, before I say anything about it, who is this "News Bot"? You refer to him only as a fan, but is there something to indicate he actually has some type of insider information that makes any of these things worth discussing?

EDIT: Just to be clear, I did read all of your post about how he posts "only real" stuff, but has he actually made predictions in the past that have come to light?
