So I decided to play Resident Evil 6 too. Finished it last night.

Went in fully knowing what to expect and that the horror vibe is long gone. You know what? I had a lot of fun with this game. All 4 campaigns are fun to play.

People say that Leon's is closer to what we would like of a RE game, but after the cemetery, it's just like the others, a straight up third person shooter. In the beginning I was carefully spending the ammo I had but, by the end, I had so many weapons and ammo that I was going guns blazing and spending bullets without remorse.
Chris's was all about the warfare and it was cool to have a squadron assisting you.
Jake's brought that Nemesis like monster to pursuit you for most of the time.
Ada's was interesting for the puzzles and the intersections, enjoying another view of the other 3 campaigns.

It's hard to pick a favorite, since they were all pretty much the same regarding gameplay and feel. I enjoyed the most exagerated moments too. Planes crashing, zombie T-Rex (my favorite boss battle), fighting helicopters, battling giants while in a jet...maybe I already accepted that we're not getting something like RE4 and don't care anymore, so I don't let this hinder my experience.

Another common complain is the overuse of QTE. There aren't many, actually. What's there is "press this button and something happens", not "press this sequence of buttons and watch the game do stuff". And it didn't bother me either, except in the cases where it was so fast and unexpected that we didn't even have time to think about pressing the right button.

I remember that the common complaint about this game is that Capcom didn't really know what it wanted. It's pretty clear to me that they wanted a third person shooter with RE characters. That's what we got. For an upcoming RE7 I wouldn't mind that again, but I'm hoping they can have many more puzzles than they did for each campaign.

Can't say I agree about them all feeling the same gameplay wise. The mechanics were obviously the same, but I thought each had a pretty different feel. Leon's and Chris's were somewhat close once Leon got to the city, but I thought Sherry's and Ada's were much different.

For me, I was always running out of ammo in Chris' campaign, but just his. Given his urban warfare feel, I'd thought I'd be swimming in lead.

Exactly. I just finished playing it recently and the complaints were blown completely out of proportion. I had fun myself nad enjoyed it.

I completely agree with this

Ada's was different for like the first hour of the first chapter, but after that it felt exactly the same as the rest. The dropped the pretense that hers was some pseudo-stealth game and it was just another third person shooter until a few parts in the final chapter. Outside of being chased by that monster, Jake's scenario didn't feel much different either

I want them to bring back games like RE: Outbreak. Those were fun as hell. They had a frickin zombie elephant! Bring them back in the age of online gaming instead of the PS2 online version and they'll go crazy.

Why does have to be ether or Or they can do the Remake with the controls people prefer play and they can also do what you suggested Kevan. any let wait and see who these other two games do . Another out break game would be cool though

Bad connection it started snowing up here too. Anyway Its corrected

I never said skip anything in production, I just want to see a game like RE: O come back as the first two were lots of fun even playing alone.

oh ok when you said

that's why it made me say why does it have to be ether/or ? I guess miss read some of it to a degree some part of me was think about the remake for some reason . Anyway they can do as you said as I said to have another new RE: Out break would be cool. ether up dated or a new installment

I just meant last time the Outbreak games came out they used the PS2 internet hookup just as it was starting to lose popularity and the PS3 was just around the corner from being released. Most people would have preferred to wait for the PS3 with its much better and more stable internet hookup than deal with the crappy (from my memory anyway) PS2 connection. Now that a steady HS connection is normal for pretty much everyone the Outbreak games could be a lot more fun.

Resident Evil Outbreak came out 3 years before the PS3 did. The PS2 was still very popular as the PS3 hadn't even been announced and wouldn't be for quite some time

Blarg, I was thinking of the release date from Outbreak 2.

This is the first time Burton has been truly a playable character for Resident Evil. I'm not counting Mercenaries.
