Capcom The Resident Evil Thread

I just finished Resident Evil under 7 hours and 1 minute. I thought I wouldn't finish it but yey me for finishing that. It felt longer than it did. I would have enjoyed it more if it was a third person game, I still can't get over with this change. The wrecked ship is also so dark and ugh, I'm fine shooting more enemies as long as I can see very clearly. Over all, its a very intense game. I hope one day, Capcom adds a third person camera option to this and Village.

Resident Evil Village Complete Set Collector's Edition is Just $1800

If I didn't know anything about the game, I would have thought Chris is the lead here.

And Steam categorized this as open world. Looking at the map, it looks pretty big. I thought it was just the village houses then the big castle. But it looks there might be a back tracking in at least four main locations.

I'll start saving up now (so I can spend the 1750 somewhere else and get the game for basic price).

For that price you'd think it comes with a full size Lady Dimitrescu statue.

I think the price of that is 500 dollars too high.

I think the statue probably cost around 200, then the game at 70. I haven't bought a coat in a long time but unless its made by a high end brand, it shouldn't cost more than 200. Then the box wrapped in leather, I'm thinking is around 100 dollars then the replicas/the rest are probably around 400. Add those numbers it doesn't even eXceed 1000 dollars.

There are going to be at least a few fools with more money than sense who will buy this absurd collector's edition, no doubt about it.

RIP. :csad: She was really helping the excitement for this game and a shame she won’t get to see the end product.

Yeah cancer is a cruel *****.

Beat the Leon Scenario and started the 2nd run Claire for RE2 Remake. Really love it. Hated the Ada portion of the Leon scenario because of the gameplay/mechanic, already dreading getting to Sherry.

Nothing really made me jump... except, every time I'm at the bottom of a stairway, the zombies that would splat down and then crawl to you.

ETA: Checked out Resistance. Could never make a match with anyone. Did the solo tutorial play thing. The only thing I kinda thought, focus solely on the survivors as playables. You already had a story with the test subject thing. With some reworking, this could have been somewhat of a spiritual successor to Outbreak but still be its own story/thing. Sadly, deleted since no one was available to play over the week I tried. And the one coming out with Village... already deleted that one after Preordering Village.

This was posted on the Resident Evil facebook page:

Your love for Lady Dimitrescu is loud and clear.

Here's a message from our RE Village art director, Tomonori Takano:

Hi everyone, I'm Tomonori Takano, Art Director on Resident Evil Village. I wanted to use this opportunity to publicly reflect on the outpour of positivity we've received from the fans on our latest announcement. As a representative of the development team, thank you to all the fans who continue to follow us.

Most recently, Lady Dimitrescu and her daughters have received a fair amount of attention, far more than we anticipated. It’s great that they're able to take the spotlight as icons of Resident Evil Village. Lady Dimitrescu, especially, has received much fanfare both domestically and overseas, which has made all of us in the development team extremely happy. I hear her height is something of interest. If you include her hat and high heels, she’s 2.9m (approximately 9’6”) tall.

These bewitching, vampiric characters are relentless in their pursuit of Ethan, and I can’t wait for you to meet them yourselves when you enter Castle Dimitrescu in May.

I have yet to play anything beyond Resident Evil 4 but I intend to play VII before Village comes out since it continues Ethan's story and that looks interesting.

You should try playing 5 and 6 since like 7 and Village, it features Chris.

6 though is much easier but has more variety than 5.

5 is hard during the early parts of the game. The enemies are literally in your face, you're easily crowded by enemies....even if you have a partner.

I binged played 4 to 6 in 2018 and damn that was stressful and I didn't remember 4 beinv that hard back in ps2. However 7 is the most stressful and that one has the least amount of enemies.

I know I should play 5 and 6 for the story if nothing else but having read enough of what happens in both, I am okay skipping over that story since 7 is something of a soft reboot anyways.

What I would love to see is a remake of Resident Evil in the vein of RE:2 and 3 where it gets that graphical and gameplay improvement while also mixing it up some so that it is not a straight up step by step remake. I know that isn't going to happen any time soon though with Village, I am already interested in where that is going.

I started 6 years ago but didn’t finish. Will have to go back to that and do 7.

That's what I want as well. We should be getting another remake of Re1, then a remake of Ø and Code Veronica than a remake of 4.

I have yet to buy 1 and Ø because of the fiXed camera. While I haven't seen a physical copy of Code Veronica ps4 remaster anywhere. So I'd probably just buy a remake for those three games instead of playing the 2000s version.

4R is neXt after Village.

Revelations is probably your best bet for a game to play before VIII.

I finished RE2 Remake last week, just finished RE3. I like both games. I won't regurgitate what's been said about 3, but as much as I loved it, I do agree with everything, comments, critiques, etc., that's been said about it. Going from 2 and jumping right into 3, definitely a downgrade.

Only thing I'll say, some people love it, lots hate it, but I'm in the I hated the Nemesis redesign camp. The neck up I hate, I don't mind the trashbag/bodybag look of his outfit. Didn't mind the mutated looks.

Can't wait for VIllage.

Resident Evil Village Dev Thinks It'll Be the Best Survival Horror Game

The ladies don't look nightmare inducing. But the "vampires" with the hood, I think those are going to be the zombies in the game , like they could be the most common enemy in the game.

Also interested in this Metroidvania/semi open world structure. I noticed this structure with the recent God of War/Tomb Raider/Star Wars game. Though Re2r and the earlier games kinda have the metroidvania structure especially in Re2r, where you can go from the sewers to the police station.

But I just can imagine I will dread backtracking in this game.
