I'd be quite pleased if the rock gets to be Black Adam, but I'd be quite dissapointed if he gets to be the big red cheese.

However, not too long ago, there was a cat on these boards who suggested The Rock play Captain Marvel, and the kid from Heroes play Billy. I kinda like that idea too.

Keep in mind that Shazam! is going to be a family-friendly flick, so you won't be seeing the face-ripping, dismembering Black Adam from recent comics. Hell, I would be really surprised if they even mentioned Khandaq or anything like that.

Johnson could play either role well, IMO. But I'd prefer a relative unknown for Cap.

And ... Brandon Molale looks much more Captan Marvel, and the rock much more like black Adam so ... why keep thinking about something that is naturally solved ? and see this 2 guys on the screen is better than have just one.

Yeah, I totally didn't read that right. I saw the post and thought he was suggesting him as an alternative for Captain Marvel. That's what everybody suggests him for. Black Adam is pretty lousy of an idea though.

as somebody said earlier, if black adam shows up in a JLA film as some sort of diplomatic-immunity filled badass, then yes, the rock would HAVE to be him


although, even a light-hearted shazam movie (or up to pg-13) would make the fall of black adam that much sweeter

Because honestly, based on everything I've seen I still believe the Rock is a better choice for Captain Marvel. I don't think Brandon Molale is a bad choice...I just think the Rock would have a lot more charm in the role.
Conversely, visuals aside I think the Rock is a terrible choice for Black Adam. The Rock has always seemed to me to be at his strongest when he plays on a certain camp factor and/or doesn't take himself too seriously. Having him play a villain, to me, would almost be like casting Jackie Chan as a villain. He just seems so much more natural as the strong albeit goofy hero.
Frankly, if not Marvel, I don't think he should should be in it at all.

Honestly, I don't know who Black Adam is or what he looks like, but I do know Captain Marvel. Rock doesn't look like him entirely, but he could pull it off. I just can't see a movie about Cap Marvel being done. It's too hokey to me. I don't think it wouldn't be taken seriously. Maybe this Black Adam character would though. I'd have to see some comparison pics first.
