The Rock wants to hear your opinion on Shazam!

Who do you think the Rock should play in Shazam!

  • Captain Marvel

  • Black Adam

Shia LaBeouf, as great a thespian as he is, can't even act young enough for Billy Batson anymore.

How young does Batson truely need to be though? I think having him be a teenager instead of a under 10 year old would be the way to go.

If Shia was cast as Batson....then with the Rock as a villain.

They will put butts in seats without a doubt.....just as long as the movie doesn't look to cheesy.

Well, I think a teenager is on the verge of becoming an adult anyway, they have some "grown folks" tendencies. Having him still be a young boy makes it that much more of a transition to me.

I always thought Black Adam would suit the Rock more than Shazam. He just ooze Black Adam with his skins tone & look. I don't usually like having wrestlers do movies since many of them are terrible, but I think Johnson will work for BA. :)

Exactly.

Shia LaBeouf is an adult. It doesn't make sense for him to go from being an adult to.... even more of an adult. Plus it would be way too jarring to have Shia turn into Brandon Molale, or whoever they choose to get. With a young boy we can buy that he would look like that when he got older. Shia, on the other, already being an adult we know he wouldn't look anything like that.

Plus the whole the defeats the whole purpose of the kid wanting to become an adult. Shia is way too old to pull off the "aw shucks, grown-ups have all the fun! I wish *I* was grown up!"

On a side note, I'd just like to say that it was very nice of The Rock to actually give us a say in the character he was going to play.

What did you say before?

....that the Rock would have made a brilliant Captain Marvel, and I believe very strongly that his Black Adam will leave much to be desired.

shia is too old. Get Freddy Highmore or something.

Heck Yeah! Can't wait to see Rock as a villain for the first time.

No, Doom doesn...doesn't count!

Have you forgot he was a villian in "The Mummy Returns"? :p

And I don't remeber he was a villian in Doom. Am I missing something here?

Then scratch that and replace Doom with Mummy Returns

Besides, he wasn't in Mummy Returns sans the opener. Just a crappy computer generated thingy that looked more like plastic than it did the Rock.

Damn. Well, I stand by what I said before. The Rock would have made a brilliant Captain Marvel, and I believe very strongly that his Black Adam will leave much to be desired.

 sepharih, I agree with you on the first part, not so much on the second. :csad:
I hope DJ kick a$$ as BA. I'm very happy that he chose to let the fans decide, although I voted the other way. :cwink:
Pretty cool of him, hope this film gross alot of money.

I gotta disagree with you on this. I don't hope that the Rock will kick ass as Black Adam. I know he's going to kick ass as Black Adam. He just oozes Black Adam, plus he let the fans decide which is a very big plus in my opinion.

I'm still not sure. Yeah, he looks like Black Adam, but can he actually convincingly play him? I don't know.

you know my ideal Captain Marvel is Brendan Fraser.

maybe a proper fight scene can finally be done for them if these two get cast for the role

Shia LeBouf is not a teenager. He's an adult. Billy should be 13 or so, not 21.

He was bad in the beginning too. Even in his human forum, that is. ;)

Yeah. I heard the Rock doing an interview on a local radio station about his new comedy. He sounded as excited for it as he would about getting the latest phone book or something. Apparently he is as aware as we.

Doom was good for me. I think it was almost his best work on film.

^^^

Are you forgetting when he played Elliot the Gay Country Singer in "Be cool" ??? Cause that role was hilarious and comedy is a lot harder than Drama sometimes. If he can pull off a gay cowboy black Adam should be a piece of cake!

I don't like the idea of him playing any of these roles.BUT, if he does play Black Adam, since I've seen that most of the people preferes him in that role, he'll do great. I don't know what more this guy has to do to prove that he can actually play.

Those who say that he can't play are those who haven't seen his movies. Dwayne Johnson can act. That's a fact. And watch him getting better and better. He's not another Arnold, with a glaciar look and always good only for action movies. He can do many things, people. You'll see.
