Yeah, the media is ****. Freedom of the press is so useless with corporate owned media.

BOOM up to 91%. Metro review added, bit of a mixed review says "its the best in the series but still only ok" (whatever that means??) but its fresh rating so all good.

Yeah, like Metro, if you're someone who just doesn't like this series, DoFP probably wont change your mind.

Just nice to see it finally move again (and in the right direction).

I think this is the first in this series, from all the way back from X-men, where I haven't been reading up on reviews (except for the first couple that came out).

Hopefully this helps with not overhyping the movie for me.

Likewise, I pretty much listen to the soundtracks, watch the movies now and then, watch some clips online (there's this really cool fan made "Previously on X-Men" video on youtube that's basically all the movies in chronological order with the scores playing in the background) and I watch the trailers when I really get anxious. But yeah 91% hopefully it stays that way, and hopefully I can translate that 91% into actual full enjoyment of the movie.

Well, I'll be reviewing it, but i'm not on Rotten Tomatoes.

Online critics need to have done at least 100 reviews over two years and I've done 71, partly because my blog has been inactive for many months due to changing work duties after one of those restructuring thingies (My job is now far wider than the Coventry Telegraph, it's largely for the Birmingham Mail in fact).

But I did do a 14 things you need to know about X-Men: Days of Future Past for my Geek Files blog. It was done almost entirely off the top of my head, and I haven't seen the movie so some of it might not be 100 per cent accurate, lol. But I thought it was a nice little list, and I put it on the main newspaper website front page too.

That's what I have always been afraid of. The 87% from the Rottentomatoes score for First Class did not translate to any goodwill from me. I've repeated this ad nauseam but I hated that movie first time I saw it.

My paper did a big feature on DoFP for today's edition. I hoped they would include a review, but alas. Guess it'll be in the next few days.

We have two main film critics, Kyle Smith who hates everything for attention, and Lou Lumenick who is a normal critic who isn't afraid to like a film. Hoping Lou reviews this. :o

I'm going for low 90s. If the current average on RT holds up...
Well if the current average holds up it will without question be low 90s, mainly because the current average is in the low 90s. :woot:

Like the fact that both those two reviews headlines say its the best in the series, irrespective of the score.

But then after the last two films I have seen in the cinema my expectations have been lowered for all films in general.

LOL...cute cat/dog hug! I actually think the media is vital, they are the ones people ring when they want to campaign against something, expose an injustice, etc. And the media often get things done for ordinary people. As soon as the press is involved in ringing up some nasty corporate giant, they often relent and sort the issue out for the person concerned.

What I meant is that everyday folk seem less bothered about what's going on locally, regionally, nationally or globally and more concerned about cat/dog stuff and silly surveys about 'what brand of car are you?'. Those viral sites don't have anything useful to offer - they don't go to council meetings, inquests, courts, other public meetings; they don't rush out to emergency incidents; they don't do any of the IMPORTANT stuff.

Exactly, I remember how everyone loved the living, let's say daylights, out of that movie, and while there was great casting, music, some cool effects and cameos, I just can't seem to enjoy that movie, I really tried. But the fact that JP and Danoyse seem in such great spirits, the air just feels different, something is really clicking in this one, it feels completely unlike Last Stand and First Class, even here in the Hype, it's like everyone around here knows we are about to witness the movie we wanted to see almost ten years ago (and some have), and I like that feeling.

Kyle Smith will do what Kyle Smith does, I'm actually waiting for Rob Vaux, he's my main sci-fi/fantasy reviewer, even when I don't agree with him, I kinda do.

Oops!

Still waiting for the positive JoBlo and SlashFilm reviews to be added.

It's so funny Aaron Taylor-Johnson (and pretty much the rest of the cast of Godzilla) has been lambasted by critics as being duller than a bag of rocks. :awesome:

Nnnnnn, not Peter's being confused with Aaron :(
