If it maintained this rating, it would be the highest rated CBM of all time!

Do you think the somewhat mediocre films in Spider-man and Godzilla might have made DoFP seem better subconciously to some reviewers? Or is that crazy talk?

Nah, I don't think so.

Yeah, I wasn't entirely confident in that logic myself to be honest.

Really excited, seeing it after work on Saturday, hopefully I'll like it

These top critics are eating this film up! And ****ing loving it!

To be fair DOFP is not similar to TDK in terms of raves
TDK got 8.5 average rating
DOFP got 7.6

and I can't see it getting 8 Oscar nominations

I don't care about the average rating.

The percentage is what I look at.

Two more added, and it's hit 95%

Wow, just wonderful for the franchise and CBM's, hopefully its loved by the fans

Spider-Man is Jealous

I never thought his could end up being the highest rated CBM but that's not only an option but could almost be a likelihood :hubba

It will be difficult to stay in the 90's but not impossible.

Let's not forget, Cap 2 came every close.

Actually the rating is the far more important of the two. The percentage is simply a yes/no evaluation. That said 7.6 average is nothing to sneeze, at this rate is my end up higher.

I think ultimately Cap's weaker plot and casting may have been the reason for the batch of late negatives that came it's way. Looking back whilst the film is still good it was lacking a real emotional journey for any particular character. The big difference here is the story is far richer and the cast far better, there are about 4-5 good character arcs here. I'll be very surprised if this drops below 90. I normally don't stick my neck out for RT scores but I really think this film deserves a place at the big table.

Usually the average rating shadows the percentage closely on a consistent basis.

I'm so pumped for this weekend! X-Men has always been my favorite on the Marvel side, hope these great reviews keep coming!

56/59 (=94.92%)
Avg 7.6

The Dark Knight actually had more negative reviews after the first 60. This is going to go close to topping the RT score for the genre.

Not only the best film in the 'X-Men' series, but one that rivals the best super-hero movies of the past. Inventive and slick in the best sense, it continues the franchise's rejuvenation and whets the appetite for more.
