And the only one it'll ever get.

11 Top Critics and all positive so far. :woot:

What 'Oscar-worthy' means to ME, (I dunno about you) is a movie with exceptional, amazing QUALITY.

I felt strongly about Hunger Games, and Batman, these CBM are such QUALITY in every way.

The Oscar academy usually ignores these, and go straight to crown dramas that usually carry NO action. Even though the QUALITY is no different/better.

Is Hunger Games a quality movie or CBM though? Dark Knight I understand, but Hunger Games? Never really picked up that vibe

Obviously, Hunger Games has exceptional acting (All the casts but especially Jennifer Lawrence), a great story, to me it has the quality that award-winning movies has.

I love the X-Men series but this is definitely not the type of series to get Oscar attention outside technical awards. Dark Knight was probably the most likely possibility for a long time and that couldn't even muster a best picture or director nod.

I'd give 12 oscars to Arnold's good old Running Man before handing out any to HG.

Pretty sure Ledger winning best supporting is the most prestigious award a comic book movie has received thus far.

Sadly, It's hard to know if he would have won had he been alive. I thought Ledger was great and deserved it. But i do wonder if his Death was the reason he won.

Actually, have any non-superhero comic films received an Oscar? It's probably just a matter of time before the right Vertigo or indie comic is adapted to screen and receives the attention of the Oscar crowd.

I realize that. The face was for the fact that you were saying that the HG is basically trash.

For me it was painfully mediocre. Don't know about the sequel, I had no incentive to watch it.

Hunger Games is awesome, but Catching Fire is perfection, IMO. There is nothing wrong I find with it. It's the Empire Strikes Back of Hunger Games!

Catching Fire destroys the first. Really well made flick. I had little to no problems with that film.

Just a damn shame they're ruining that series by splitting Mockingjay in 2.

Not if they are going to explore characterization that the book may rushed on. Whole bunch of GREAT/TALENTED actors to make the movie longer, how can that be a bad thing? :P

Damn shame Philip Seymore Hoffman died.

I'm not a fan of stretching stories longer than they need to be. Besides, there's a rule of three for a reason.

Never saw the films as I was dissapointed in the books, especially the endings. So the movie never appealed to me.
