It's way more fun to not follow a movie for 6 months and load up Rotten Tomatoes to see the film on it's way to an 80+ score.

Really glad it's been well received and hopefully I'll enjoy it as much as the critics have.

Think this was around the time that TASM2 really started to tank RT wise. Good to see Homecoming going in the other direction.

Think you mean Spider-Man 2. I don't see this getting an 8.0 average, not even Logan managed that.

Apes had an early embargo lift so probably less screenings. Movies typically get a lot of critic screenings a week before, but the Apes embargo lifted almost three weeks ahead of its release date.

lol yeah I meat to say Spider-Man 2 and yeah Apes comes out a week after Spider-Man and its embargo got lifted 3 days before Spider-Man so that means its embargo was lifted 10 days earlier then Spider-Man when you compare its embargo to when the movie comes out and yeah normally the amount of reviews pick up when you get closer to a movie coming out. Yeah Logan is at a 7.9 and I think there are a few other CBM that are close to 8 but not at 8 like 7.9-7.7 type of average. 8 is just really hard to get to that is why I also wonder if Apes can stay at 8 because a lot of movies in general don't get 8 not just CBM so for it to be at a 8.2 so far is very impressive but of course it most likely still has around 250 or so reviews left so that average could drop some. It did go from like a 7.9 up to its current 8.2 though after its like last 10-20 reviews I think though.

55/4 now.

If this ends up in the 90s, I'm putting a big ass poster above my bed.

This is definitely getting a framed poster in my apartment.

Spider-Man is back!
And just think how this almost didn't happen.

Ah nice. Looks like it help up very well overnight. Glad to see the average is still high too.

But unfortunately the lesson hasn't been learned.

Marvel Studios didn't NEED Spidey in the MCU, they WANTED him in there because an MCU without Spidey would always feel somewhat off.

However, Sony effed up big time and gave been on a downward spiral since Spider-Man 3. They NEEDED Marvel Studios to recalibrate Spider-Man's position and popularity and they did that with less than 15mins of screen time in CW and now Homecoming is a critical hit.

...and Sony ARE still going to move forward with all their bs ideas and spinoffs. This isn't some thermonuclear quantum problem that needs solving. It's common sense at its most basic and Sony are obstinately going to undo all this positivity they've been afforded thanks to Marvel Studios.:whatever:

Yeah I can't support Sony's future spin offs in the face of this idiocy.

Unless SONY gives Marvel creative control and Marvel actually wants to make one of the films, it's going to be a bad idea...

Man I want to see an MCU take on Norman Osborne/Green Goblin badly.

The Goblins are off the table for the foreseeable future they said. Been over done in the previous two franchises.

I think Feige and co want to keep their MCU Spidey as distant from previous films as possible. I see the likes of Scorpion, Kraven, Mysterio and other unused villains getting priority before any other villain SONY attempted. Which is bad news for us Ock fans... Hopefully for the 3rd movie, one can dream.

I want to see every Spider-Man villain done by Marvel Studioes. I'm thrilled we're getting great villains like Vulture, hopefully Kraven, and Mysterio, but I'd love to see the heavyweights Green Goblin, Doc Ock, and Venom done MCU-style.

The potential here with Holland is tremendous. He could do 7-8 movies and we can actually watch a character grow up. We could even see a whole lifetime of Spider-Man with Tom Holland.

I don't expect the stars to align (Sony/Marvel, Holland availabilty and desire) but I sure hope they do. If anyone could pull this off it's the MCU.

I don't think we will be getting Kraven and Mysterio if Sony are going to use them in their stupid spin offs. They can gladly have Venom, and all the other symbiote characters.

Doc Ock is a must for this franchise. Especially with the Goblins on the back burner.

Sony would have to be idiots who hate money to severe their relationship with Marvel Studios.

I say let the first couple spin-offs flop and after Sony loses a couple hundred million they'll realize they should let Marvel take the reins.

It would be nice if they could just ditch the spin-offs from day one but these studios are going to have to learn the hard way that cinematic universes don't grow on trees.

Eventually I'd like to see this Spidey take on a Sinister Six. As long as its done by the MCU and NOT Sony.
