Runaways #28 will arrive in stores on Oct. 3 from Marvel Comics. The issue is written by Joss Whedon, with art by Michael Ryan and a cover by Jo Chen.

Here's how Marvel describes the issue:

"'Dead End Kids,' part 4 of 6. Love is in the air as the Runaways try and run back from 1907"

Runaways #28 will be 32 pages and will cost $2.99.

Aw, freckly redheaded girl is adorable. Ryan's art actually looks interesting now that he's doing the period piece thing. He was definitely not too great at kids in a modern setting.

What is this "Runaways" that you speak of? I vaguely remember reading a series like that.

Not in the synergy between style and subject, no. But the series has felt a little more active with Ryan drawing, at least. Apparently Alphona hated drawing action. Why he's working as a comic book artist at one of the big 2 if that's the case is beyond me, but Vaughan said that was one of his quirks.

He may have hated drawing action, but he wasn't bad at it. Ryan may love drawing these kids and action packed scripts, but none of that matters if he's not doing a good job.

He's not doing a bad job, either. Just a plain job. There's really no one out there among the superhero artist set who's going to bring quite the pizzazz that Alphona did, except maybe Josh Middleton.

Scottie Young could bring the energy, but his style isn't right for the title. An early Gen X-era Bachalo would rock socks.

I'd drop Runaways in a heartbeat if Young came on. I agree on Bachalo, but unfortunately he seems to have left that style behind.

I wouldn't drop the book if Young came aboard, but I wouldn't be tickled pink, either.

It makes me think of those nasty, pink pickled eggs you see in dive bars.

Thankfully, I've managed to avoid dive bars well enough to not know what you're talking about.

Those are bikers bars. I'm talking about dive bars. Get out more, Corp.

"Tumbleweed"? Is that some kind of urban youth drug reference? I'm afraid I'm a skosh out of the loop on you young kids and your hippity-hoppity "ghetto" allusions.
That's the second post of the day that's made me cringe. I can't decide if that's a  or a :down.
It all comes down to how much you like bread relative to *****, I guess.

Tumbleweed is a nationwide chain of steak houses. It's the same as the Long Horn or Outback.

I can't believe you used the "p" word. I would have thought better of you than that, Mr. Educated. :(

You're right. I should've said "poon" or "snatch." I apologize for my impropriety. :(

Ah, I get it now.

Now I want some steak...
