I don't hate Liefeld's art. At least he can draw in a somewhat way. My point is that Ramos is not that bad. Hell, If I were liking the writer (Who I solely hate for loving molly, cause the little c*nt will never die) I'd be all for the book. Art included. Yeah, the art gets on my nerves sometimes, but not enough to make me not want to read a book.

Well, I don't know what to say, except that you're a better man than I.

Terry Moore is a lot better suited for this book then Whedon is.

After STRANGERS, I am inclined to agree, but that Ramos art will be hard to stomach.

Very hard.

Very VERY hard.

Yes, I can actually agree with you sometimes. :p Actually, within the past few months we've seemed to agree on a variety of topics, it's just when we don't, they become spats. :D

Y'know, it's a shame, if they had just gotten a HALF-decent artist, this would've been good news rather than ****ing horrible news.

It's true. Almost any other artist besides Ramos or Liefeld or Alex Sanchez and I would've been willing to give Moore's Runaways a try. Alas... :(

Precisely.

Considering every RUNAWAYS fill-in artist, including the much criticized Miyazawa, was better.

Shame Mike Norton is busy on Marvel Adventures.

Off the top of our heads we could all make wish-lists of RUNAWAYS artists and none of them would include Ramos. Damn.

Ramos' art can be tough to take sometime, but I love this team and these characters too much. Moore should be a good fit.

Spat is a funny word. And I'm still up in the air about this new team. It's like I can't decide what's worse: Whedon's ****ty writing or Ramos' ****ty drawing. Why is Marvel so hellbent on burning this book?

I wouldn't go so far as to call Whedon on this title "****y". Of course, to each their own. I'm hardly a Whedon-worshipper. It's not perfect but I could rattle off a dozen writers who would've been worse.

I dunno what Marvel has against the book, considering that the digests sell well in other markets and it is critically acclaimed. But Ramos is one of those miscast artists who continues to be internally popular and thus gets on projects he is ill suited for.

Like I said before, when Vaughan left, so did I. To me, Vaughan is, or I guess was (Except for Y and Ex Machina, which are still going, for now) the best writer in the business. Anything else was going to be a step down.

Whedon writes the kids as archetypes instead of having individual personalities. They've become parodies and cliches of themselves.

Yep. This book died when BKV left. That's such a shame, too. It was one of Marvel's very best titles.

Not to be a conspiracy theorist but,...I just get the feeling someone over there thought (Insert Dub ya inflection)"We need to find a home for Ramos thats a good fit!"
I just know that someone over there is giving themselves an undeserved pat on the back

Marvel reminds me of my granny sometimes-They refuse to try new things and always fall back on what they know-Not necessarily what they think they "know" as in facts, but what they're familliar with.
Different= scary =Grandma mentality

I won't disagree. BKV not only created the franchise but is among the best in the biz, and no one will be able to capture his "thunder in a bottle".

Yeah. I mean I don't hate Whedon's run as much as some of you, but I won't deny it easily is a step down from Vaughan, and that I don't look forward to the book as much as I used to.

Wow, COMICBOY's hatred of Molly puts even my own to shame. :wow:

But not mine. :o

I actually set it as one of the first comics I read now. =/

Maybe this will make things less ambivalent.

Don't worry, Kitty only looks like that because Petey's head Thwomped her.

Since I don't know which of Petey's heads (:o) did the thwomping (whatever that is, the link isn't working) I don't know if that's a valid excuse.:p

Anyway, I have to share my disappointment on the book with the rest of the naysayers. It started out good but suddenly it became Buffy again. I mean, I've heard comments that Whedon only knows how to do those characters but AXM didn't seem plagued by it. But, Runaways?! It was like Whedon thought: "Well, these are teenagers so they HAVE to have watched Buffy. And every teenager imitates my God-stacular dialog, so it's only RATIONAL that they HAVE to talk like the cast of Buffy!!!" What it did for me was conflict my brain as to why Buffy looked like that and she was in a Marvel comic book or why someone was "voicing over" the cast of Runaways with a Buffy episode.

I don't know if the new writer will be a bad choice or not. I can stand it not being the same; I mean, it would be ridiculous to expect the same when it's a different person. What I can't stand is it being something different and bad. And Humberto Ramos? Outside of Impulse and X-Nation I haven't found his style to be that good.

Ramos just sucks. Badly. He'd be fine in a book that's meant to make no sense, and be all about random crap, like a webcomic. But not here.

In IMPULSE and X-NATION, Ramos actually adhered to things like anatomy and perspective, which now he totally abandons. Not unlike Bachelo, whose past work is almost nothing like the slop he does now.

I know some people adore him, but I would add Leinil Yu to the list. I grabbed a bunch of random comics from one of my boxes and a couple of them were from his X-Men run and the art was much cleaner and pleasing to the eye. Apparently it's a common trait for artists to start conceptualizing their drawings more when they hit the "big times" for a while.:(

I agree about Yu. His NEW AVENGERS art has been very sketchy.
