I'm considering sticking with it for Moore and Ramos. I managed to deal with Ramos' art in X-Men and enjoy the stories, so if Moore does good stuff Runaways could be okay.

Why can't Vaughn come back

I'm not sure if I can stomach Ramos. I already feel like a dirty **** buying New X-Men just for MC.

But you bought X-Men just because of Carey before that, too.

Why can't Vaughn come back

Because we sinned... in a comic-book sense. We bought House of M and Decimation. by subjecting ourselves to such dreck we made our eyes too unclean to partake of the unadulterated awsomeness that was Runaways under Vaughn. And so now we are being weaned away from awsomeness by having Wheadon do a short run on the title.

That's all well and good, but you know damn well that something with the amount of exposure and mainstream press like BND has been getting WILL sell tremendously well. It'll get a third printing, at least.

I swear sometimes it seems like the problem is the hype machine only understands how to sell shock-value crap. Like anytime someone happens to produce some legitimately evocative, imagination-stretching piece of work that leaves you feeling mystified and delighted and priviledged to have read it, the PR guys pick it up and go "so what, nobody gets raped?"

It seems like any time I try and tell someone to go read Iron Fist the first thing I hear is "okay... so who's Iron Fist?" and that makes me think that somebody somewhere isn't doing his job.

I'd kind of like to see Marvel do commercials for their characters.

You know, just artwork, hyping them.

Yeah, but that was because with each issue, I thought Bachalo was right around the corner.

I'm wondering why they involved a Minoru? I mean, I can understand the Yorkes, but Minorus...

agreeing with both of you. I thought Vaughn has sworn off Company owned characters and was doing Indies from now on?

Nope. He's got a Wolverine miniseries coming out in a few months.

Then he needs to get his ass back to Runaways!
