I likely will give Moore & Ramos a shot, although Ramos' art likely will be a deal-breaker. Good lord, was NO other artist available?

i kinda like Ramo's art.. depends on his title though, i dont mind him on X-men, but HATED him on spider-man

With New X-Men ending, they probably figured they'd just shuffle Ramos over to whatever other teen book was available. Lo and behold, Runaways needed an artist. "Must be kismet!"

:(

Yeah, but if she were Humberto Ramos, she'd actually be taking over Runaways. :(

Alina Urusov.

And is also better suited to take over Runaways.

Agreed. And Cebulski could easily write it. But if they wanted to keep him free, yeah, Urusov for Ramos would be a no brainer here.

Sadly, it isn't to be.

It is funny; early in 2007, when BKV was ending his run, this was still my #1 Marvel book. Then Whedon came along, and he wasn't as solid, but the months between each issue increased, and now this has almost become like AXM for me. I don't hate it, I often enjoy it on some level, but I don't anticipate it because it rarely ships. I see it on the shelf and go, "oh, you're here this quarter", and nab it. But considering Ramos in the pipeline, that isn't so bad.

RUNAWAYS not only isn't my #1 Marvel book, it isn't even in the Top 5 anymore. Time & change, and lateness, are funny things.

Maybe Ramos will only do a short arc, or something, and Marvel will come to it's senses.

By the time his arc is finished, the title will be selling where it was when BKV left, maybe lower. By then it will be a crap-shoot.

Senses and Marvel after OMD is a bit of a stretch.

I'm sorry but I can't believe a new issue hasn't shipped yet!

I'm not a massive comic book follower so it astounds me when I poke my head back in here after a month or two and see NOTHING has even been posted about this book let alone an issue released.

True. God, what's happened to them?

A combination of quick success and "groupthink" has led the editorial board to ignore any outside opinion and believe they can do no wrong. They will continue as such until things crumble apart.

I'm looking forward to what the January sales charts look like in another month. I have some small, cautious hope that ASM might crash and burn...

Polls on both Newsarama and Marvel's own forum seem to indicate that a lot of internet readers will be passing on it. I'm sure not everybody who voted is going to actually be true to their word, but if even half of them are, I imagine it'd create a noticeable lowering in sales. Not major, but noticeable. If the first issue of BND isn't in the top 10 or 20, I'd have a little bit of my faith in the comic-reading public restored.

It will be the top selling comic in January, no question. How many people took the Newsarama poll?

And how many of those people buying ASM to begin with? Like I said, not even a drop in the bucket.
