That's true, but that's besides the point. What I liked about him was that it didn't matter how outmatched he was or what the odds were like, he'd grab his bat and rush to fight with his pals anyway. He was all heart. Sure, he's no genius either, but that doesn't negate his courage. I always figured Chase was simular, why Nico usually had to talk him out of TKO'ing himself by rushing at something with just his fists or something. Naturally we know he has to rejoin the team at some point as "Dead Means Dead" is set before CW (where he's back with the team again, at least for a short while), but I'm curious as to what he does while away.

I like Victor too, moreso than Karolina actually, and he's a newer character. The team needed someone who wasn't as distrusting of adults or who was more "standard heroic" in some ways to balence them out.

Raph was your fav turtle huh? I'm actually hoping that Vision "upgrades" Vic in the YA/Runaways crossover. That'd be awesome.

Why don't you like Molly? She's the heart and soul of the team...and the comic relief. In my opinion, the book would be kind of boring without her...especially now that we've lost Gert and her well-placed sarcastic comments.

I consider Chase the comic relief. Molly insterjects her juvenile quips every now and then but Chase makes me laugh. Molly doesn't pic up the sarcasm slack in Gert's absence; nobody has really.

I don't find Chase funny at all. He's kind of an *******. I guess I appreciate absurdist humor more than other kinds. But getting back to heart and soul, I'd have to say Chase qualifies for this position as well simply because of his tenacity despite having no powers.

The only thing Molly did that made me hate her a fraction less was tossing Wolverine.

Actually as a kid, Donatello was my favorite. But the quality of the 2003-era TMNT got me to like all of them almost equally, including Raph.

An "upgrade" could be cool.

Joss Whedon teased that he'll be bringing in a new member when he starts in 2007 with issue #25. Think it'll be an original creation like Vaughan's made or someone more established? I've mentioned her a dozen times, but my fanboy pick would still be Persuasion, a.k.a. "daughter of Purple-Man". Considering she was last seen at Neverland and her nasty father's become a bigger league player, she could be all kinds of emo enough for the team. Plus, they don't have a psychic.

That's true. I'm not denying your points on the whole, they're just not as big a problem for me. Frankly what's been annoying me more is Kitty Pryde turning into a real spotlight hog in ASTONISHING, and I actually LIKE her more than Molly. So, yeah, to me she's not the reason I read Runaways but on the team she serves her role as immature power-pixie well enough for me.

It looks like Victor hasn't gotten a hold of piloting the Frogger yet, as he bonks the monster on the head. ;) Good to see Chase's pilots skills aren't so easy to duplicate.

Speaking of which, it's been a while since Old Lace was really a factor in a fight, and it might be interesting if Chase "operates" her to be a little more aggressive to match his outlook.

Ack. Sorry if I made it seem that I thought you were blowing off my points. I was just venting. Upper class French upbringing does that.

I'm totally looking forward to Old Lace unleashed, as you know Chase is going to just turn her into a pit bull.

And thinking about it, while I don't like Molly, if she weren't there, the book probably wouldn't be as interesting. Mainly because they don't do much with my fave char, Karolina.

We could try my new synthesized neuro-toxin project on them. O.o

I've never read anything of this Persuasion. That could be fun, as I can think of a million cases where the Runaways would want to "extract" the truth from somebody.

Yes, tire yourself out on him. So when you're done, I'll have three more souls to add to my collection.

Hmm, I don't know if the writers would bring in Persuasion since they already have a mutant, but it'd be intersting. How old is she supposed to be though, isn't she already an adult? That could be another hinderance to stopping her from coming in.

I don't think she was older than 19 last time we saw her, but it's been a while.

I never said it was perfect, it just was a fanboy wish. They're not always rational. ;)

Right now if you wanted to seperate them by "genre", the only angle they don't have is "horror", unless you count Nico's magic in that realm. They have a human, a mage, a robot, two aliens, a mutant, and Old Lace is still representative of the time-travellers. But a "horror" sort of character hasn't cropped up since that vampire in Vol. 1. Unless, as I said, you lump "supernatural" with "horror" and then Nico fits as a mage.
