Due to Nico, I doubt Persuasion would be a good insert as you've laid her out. Nico kind of portrays the "goth horror" type, given just who she is. And most likely, if you do put someone like you've suggested in, writers would always clump her with Nico, and it would kind of crap out. But as it stands, I don't personally have a good idea for an additional character myself, so meh.

Good point. I'm fairly certain she won't be joining anyway. Whedon may probably make an original creation. I mean, why not?

I don't think she was older than 19 last time we saw her, but it's been a while.

I never said it was perfect, it just was a fanboy wish. They're not always rational.

Right now if you wanted to seperate them by "genre", the only angle they don't have is "horror", unless you count Nico's magic in that realm. They have a human, a mage, a robot, two aliens, a mutant, and Old Lace is still representative of the time-travellers. But a "horror" sort of character hasn't cropped up since that vampire in Vol. 1. Unless, as I said, you lump "supernatural" with "horror" and then Nico fits as a mage.

I actually laid them out like that before as well, and I couldn't come up with anyone else besides that "horror" section either. And you see how well that already worked out with Topher.

One would hope. I liked the originality of the Runaways. They stand better alone, than linked to mainstream Marvel.

I guess, but they work better because they are part of all of the Marvel's genres. They usually get away without being "connected" because most of the MU is in New York, so LA is across the coast. It can be fun when something "mainstream Marvel" effects them, like with the first arc with Excelsior (now The Loners), the Doombot and Ultron. That was pretty cool. And Cloak & Dagger have gotten involved with them a few times. Molly's "pwning" of Wolverine was classic. Not totally emasculating like what Whedon did in ASTONISHING, just funny.

I feel the title usually had a good mix. Sometimes the title feels seperate from the MU because it sells better in digest and because BKV's got plenty of ideas. Besides, without new characters, the old ones's stagnate. But when it's gotten "intermingled", it's been a good read.

I still want them in LA, and I still want it being a breeding ground for new creations. Considering Whedon created quite a few on his ASTONISHING run, I doubt that'll be an issue.

Looked up on wikipedia that A-Next had the "son of Thunderstrike" who was a psuedo-god being, as he basically was made "Thor-lite" by Odin.

Considering Hercules' rep I'm surprised we don't have a litter of Olympian paternity suits by now. But wouldn't "children of a god" simply be considered mutants?

I don't think so, considering where the powers come from. Mutants and gods are pretty different, and I believe they're considered different races. As long as the kid didn't have super strength like Molly, I'd be ok with it. Just depends on which god fathered or mothered him or her to determine just what powers they would be given.
