I don't want Chase to die, I just want him to stop being emo.. As for Gert, though she was a cool character, I don't care to see her back.

Chase is more or less anti emo. He's actually more just psychopathic at the moment, if he really is how we see him.

I really don't want either Nico or Chase to die. I like both of them and the book wouldn't be the same without either. True, you could say the same of Gert, but, you need to keep some type of regular cast.

It's a cop-out answer, but I actually wondered if the "Staff of One" had a bit of a corrupting effect, especially if someone not in the "family bloodline" used it. Especially someone like Chase whose soul is darker than Nico's. I mean, Chase claimed it was too intense to use again, but here he is, using it again. I doubt that's it, though, precisely because it is probably a cop out.

It's wholly possible that the gang have to convince Chase to be careful with what he is unleashing, but something goes wrong and it gets unleashed anyway. And if the Avengers can keep inviting Pym back after he only built their greatest enemy, Ultron, than there may be hope for Chase.

Actually, adults are less likely to let bygones be bygones. I think the question should've been, "If you were EVER tied up by a friend, etc."

However, I hope that it isn't the, "We're warning you. Screw you. Something goes wrong. We warned you. People learn a lesson" story that seems to be recurring. I want Chase to just do it, and everybody else has to just watch, as he was right.

She almost seemed interested in girls.

Which would offend me, as Karolina could do waaaay better. Even Xavin is better, and I don't like her being with hir either.

Nico never seemed interested in girls to me. It was just BKV flirting with the idea of a Karolina/Nico pairing.

I'm damn near heartbroken that the issue has been delayed. I have been counting down the days til it came out since I read the last page of #22.

And Victor rules.:o

Humberto Ramos seems like he would be a better fit for Joss Whedon's upcoming run.

So it looks like we will have issue #23 in January, #24 in February and this series recap in March. Paving the way for Joss Whedon's #25 in April?

Might not be too bad #23 was pushed back. Otherwise we would have had no Runaways issues in February.

Molly has few fans around here. Half the readers want her to meet a ghastly fate at the hands of Micheal Jackson or something. :( I don't.

As for the RUNAWAYS thing (a recap of the series by Molly, and a bonus story from their old editor/future writer of spin-off THE LONERS)? The optimist in me goes, "what a great way to recap the series in time for Whedon & Ryan to take over". The cynic in me goes, "such a shame no one gave a shat about recapping for new fans when a non A list selling Marvel writer was on." The pessimist in me finishes, "this is a nice filler issue because Whedon & Ryan need more lead in time".

And I much prefer Ryan to Ramos any day. Whedon usually picks good artists for his projects, albeit artists who probably couldn't do monthly work at gunpoint.

God yes! He would be a good fit.

Yes, because having eyes that make them look like they're half insect and completely disproportionate bodies is going to fit in with this book. :whatever: Should he ever come on, you'd see him give Karolina and Nico breasts the size of their heads and waists so small they could use the ring on the end of the Staff of One as a hulahoop, and the guys physiques that don't exist anywhere but on overdone GI Joe dolls. Ramos sucks and I don't know how anyone can like his stuff after what he did on Wolverine and the preview art for his fill in issues of X-Men.

I think Ramos would be a good fit, mainly because he'd be following in the semi 'Manga' style as the previous artists and he draws damn good kids. His teens and children look youthful and energetic as they should, yeah his Wolverine not so much too cartoony for Logan.

Not everything has to be drawn like Bryan Hitch and J.G.Jones in a sweat shop.

Certain artist fit certain books and characters, I wouldn't put Mike Deodato on Runaways, neither would I put Skottie Yound on MAX Punisher.

Very few can do both.

Because the man is good that's why. Everything doesn't have to be photo realistic. Sometimes it's good to have an abstract style to go with things.

Exactly

Hell in a perfect world I'd have Ramos on a Power Pack ongoing.

I never said anyone who took over on art should be like Hitch or Jones.

Ask anyone to pick between Alphona and Miyazawa or whatever his name is, and they'll go for Alphona, because his characters don't all look the same in the faces and at least look proportionate and could actually be based off real people. Ramos just looks like crap because he can't draw a normal human body for squat. These characters may be young, but except for Molly, they're all on the brink of adulthood, and should look it. Just looking at that cover alone, they all look like they haven't even hit puberty yet. I mean, just look at Lady Mastermind in this top panel:

That's bloody disgusting, and if most other people drew like that in even high school art, they'd be flunked immediately. That's just hideous and has not place in any of the Runaways issues.

I see what your saying, but the point me and Anubis was making is that Ramos can do proper anatomy if he so chooses, it's just not his style. Plus your making my point for me. His X-men kinda suck, but his books starring kids work.

As far as Lady Mastermind, dude I like it! big boobs are a mainstay. I'll let you in on something, I hate Phil Hester's(Irredemable Ant-man/Green Arrow) art. Like Ramos is anatomy is crap and his faces all look the same. The difference between him and Ramos? Ramos' art has energy, it has dynamic layouts, it's has amazing design work not saying Hester doesn't have solid story telling ability, he does it's just that he's boring and bland to the 10th degree.

Ramos is a excellent artist, wonky anatomy yes. Ultimately his stuff is solid and fun.

How am I proving your point when I said he makes his kids TOO young? That cover makes all the Runaways look like they haven't even hit puberty, let alone being on the brink of adulthood, which is what they should look like, which is only what Alphona and Norton have made them look. Not that crappy cover.

Hey to each his own man, I like it.

You got every right not too.

I like Ramos' art, so i can't wait until he does his few issues of x-men. but to throw everyone completely off--

I'm more so gonna get the x-men issues now because Ramos' men aren't ugly and Rogue lifted up that guy's shirt... wait for it...that's what i'm talking about. :woot:

:csad: Ok, I'm even creeping MYSELF out these days with what I say. I'll try to stop.

Besides Nico and Victor they all look like the result of incest between a father and daughter.:o

Is Ramos the guy who did that weird Venom series a while ago?

I believe so. He also just did the WOLVERINE CW arc.

His style isn't as appropriate for mainstream superheroes as it is for other books. I've hated all his Marvel work, although his works on non-hero titles is usually better.

Ryan is leagues better than him and more appropriate, at least going by his sketches and his NEW EXCALIBER issues. He actually made Capt. Britain look GOOD.
