 looks like a fun issue :D

This last issue felt more like the original Runaways than the book had felt in a long time.

She's baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.

Dead can't stay dead, damn it.

At least we saw him before her. . .

Steve should return like Captain Britain did. A bunch of nearby American flags should just fly off of poles, wrap together in the shape of a human body, then pull away to reveal Captain America. Craziest resurrection ever.

I'm kidding, by the way. That only worked for Cap Britain because he's magic.

Ultimate Captain America would resurrect from the sound of a thousand boots kicking minorities' faces in.

Is it sad that I can imagine Ultimate Captain America throwing around racial slurs like it's still the 1940s? I'm sure he's called Ultimate Nick Fury a negro when he wasn't around.

Heh, I could see that. Although he probably did it in a way he thought wasn't racist but still totally was. You know, like, "That colored fellow is doing an admirable job running this operation. His kind's come a long way in just a few decades."

Runaways is good again yay :woot:

Glad you know who is coming back. Am I the only one who wants Alex to comeback as well. The drama from his return alone would be intresting.

RUNAWAYS #11

STORY BY Kathryn Immonen
ART BY Sara Pichelli
COLORS BY Christina Strain
LETTERS BY Chris Eliopoulos
COVER BY David LaFuente
PUBLISHER: Marvel Comics

RELEASE DATE: Wed, June 24th, 2009

“Homeschooling” New creative team! Cataclysmic new direction! In this arc, one Runaway will die, and one Runaway will live! Rising star Kathryn Immonen (PATSY WALKER: HELLCAT) and Sarah Pichelli (NYX) take the reins of the Runaways. Making out? Check. Cliffhangers? Check. Silly hats? Check. This is the Runaways arc you CAN’T miss. Part 1 (of 4).

Me thinks we've finally found someone who might be able to carry this series post Vaughn. :o

So... what happened to Xavin?

In Moore's first arc:

The Majesdanian fighters who came to earth looking to take Karolina to trial for the destruction of their homeworld ended up taking Xavin instead after he knocked her out and took her form.

Yep :woot:
Never could quite get into the other creative teams. The art and writing seems alot more like Vaughns runaways now.

Glad Xavins gone too didn't like him/her to much. I would be happy to trade Klara for Gert

Ah. Shame, I liked her.

The whole reasoning behind it all was just horrid and cliche. Apparently, Karolina's parent's had given the Skrulls the coordinates to the Majesdanian homeworld, so after the Skrulls blew it up, they now blame Karolina since her parents are dead. It's such an overused plot element and one that makes so little sense that I'm so sick of it. Xavin seemed to think that him testifying first as Karolina, then later as himself or whatever, that he'd show them the true meaning of change or some other such nonsense, as if revealing that he'd help lie to them wouldn't make them want his head. It was such BS that it couldn't have been more obvious that it was just a thinly veiled disguise to get Xavin out of the book for whatever reason.

I imagine they'll just have Klara and Gert on the team simultaneously. Personally, I would've much rather seen the redheaded dancer chick from the past return with the Runaways to the present. But, in true Whedon fashion, the fact that she and Victor actually had a nice romance meant that there's no way in hell that would ever happen.

Heh, yeah, that's probably one of the only things I don't like about Whedon, is how he can never seem to let a relationship stay stable and happy.

I do hope that this whole death thing is more hype than anything else. I think just about everyone brings something to the team and don't want to really see anyone go. Especially not the two who are looked at as the main suspects for the death.

I like everyone on the team at the moment. The only slightly weak link is Klara and I don't see them getting rid of a young child.

I could definitely live without Klara. I just never felt a huge connection with her like I did the other Runaways. probably because she came into the game so late, and in a story that I felt was really weak.

but these previews actually have me excited about this book again. Ramos is gone (and should never have been on the book). and we get a fresh writer. and with the scenes here with Karolina and Chase, it looks like this writer is putting focus back into the characters. which is what I think made this book so darn good in the first place.

anybody know if this Immonen is related to the penciller? really, how many could there be? and both at Marvel...
